Suck it up buttercup. You want a democracy and a bill of rights, this is the price.

If you don't like it, GTFO.

So don't give them their conviction. If I ever get selected for any case involving drugs, the state's not getting a conviction.

That is fully within your rights as a jurist. Judges don't like it, but it is one of the things you can do.

If you think the law in question is ed up, you can simply declare the defendant not guilty, even if the facts show they were guilty of violating the law.

I would do the same in just about any drug case that didn't involve violence.

What if a plumber was high and forgot to connect all the pipes back. So the house flooded and drowned a little baby (which can drown in only a quarter centemeter of water).

I think killing babies would be perceived as violence, intentional or not.

Yeah, I just wonder if you could get in legal trouble for going that route if you say you could convict in jury selection.

Murder and criminal negligence that results in death would be vastly different than some guy sitting in his living room on a Saturday afternoon toking up and eating microwave burritos while watching movies.

Doesn't have to be violent, I guess, but still, I don't see that much harm in most use, especially for MJ.

I would be far less inclined to nullification if it meant that the person doing far more addictive/harmful stuff like herion or cocaine/crack/meth would get into treatment. That will you up, and the quicker we get users to managing their addiction, the better.
