    Lastly:

    I don't give a .

Sure there is a cost of illegal aliens using public assistance. That is a reality. Deal with it.

    1) The cost of deporting them is not insubstantial, and would leave their kids, predominantly US citizens, to be wards of the state, at another substantial cost.

    2) Their children tend to, if memory serves, attend college and get themselves out of poverty at rates MUCH higher than natives. This suggests their kids will more than pay for whatever their parents use while they are growing up.

    Where is the problem, Y.H.?

You want to about it, but what is your solution, and why should I pay for it?

We don't have to deport them Most will self deport if we fine and jail employers who use illegal help, deny public assistance to illegals, and make employers check legal status to hire employees.

that over 500 billion figure was from 2008, it's probably up to 600 billion today, not to mention the prison costs of holding hundreds of thousands of illegal mexican gangbangers, the damage that is caused by them trafficking in their filth and drugs, the taxes that go unpaid by employers who hire them, etc. These mother ers are costing us trillions of dollars, all while slapping us in the face and disrespecting our sovereignty. Most of them are still loyal to Mexico, even while simultaneously feeding off america's tee tee.
One of the ways people lie is to leave out important bits of information.

What is the benefit to the economy of these people in the years you reference?

I didn't see that in your post.

If they self-deport, what happens to the US citizens they gave birth to?

What is the solution to that problem?

the prison costs of holding hundreds of thousands of illegal mexican gangbangers,
Please present a figure of the number of mexican nationals held in jails in the US.

The numbe of people in prison in the US is approximately 2M.

You imply that at least one out of every ten of them is "mexican".

"After a House subcommittee proposed eliminating federal reimbursements for state prisons and local jails that incarcerate about 300,000 convicted illegal immigrants nationwide, lawmakers from the two most populous blue and red states formed a rare alliance to preserve the money."

when i took economics of crime they used different figures, i read that it was approximately 300,000 in CALIFORNIA state prisons. everyones numbers are different, but the consensus is that it's A LOT.

The mother ers come over here and commit crimes, cost us 1 billion per year in court and holding fees ALONE according to the LA times, not to mention the damage that comes from the crimes themselves in the form of loss of life, damaged property, social costs from the drugs they bring in, etc. The surrounding costs besides just holding and court fees are immeasurable.

Also, RandomGuy, the economic "good" they do is only for the people who hire them, to everyone else they are a net drag. They occupy jobs while getting paid under the table in cash in many cases (paying no taxes) and signing up for welfare to subsidize the rest of their costs of living.

I wonder how much we spend per year on drug related crimes, addiction, and enforcement, 90% of which comes straight from our friendly neighbors down south. That will be my next point. An entire economy built primarily around sending money back home from the US and trafficking drugs, as if that isn't a drain on the US. Keep living in fairytale land.

I don't know, but it most certainly will be pretty cheap compared to the loss of jobs for US workers and benefits doled out.

    "legal immigration."

... isn't available to uneducated, unskilled, non-English-speaking candidates who don't have an employer willing to spend money to sponsor them or the funds to subsidize an immigration lawyer.
    Sure it is.

"In 2007, the cost of illicit drug use totaled
    more than $193 billion"

Country is going down the ter while you parrots squawk for open borders, amnesty, more war, etc etc.

Illegal immigration is so great for america, YEAH! I even let Jose and Juan rail my wife!
There is something seriously wrong in this country whenever we let over 300,000 violent offenders cross our borders illegally without question.

Are they a net drag to the landlords they pay rent to?

To the grocery stores they buy food from?

Do all of them sign up for "welfare" to subsidize their costs of living?

For something you don't know, you seem awfully certain about it.

Isn't that your criticism of climate scientists?

I'll bet if you saw water flowing one way or another down a stream, and I made the obvious statement it was going one direction, you would want me to quantify it also.

because CA let voters set tax policy.

Without low paid / under paid / unpaid illegal workers, CA would be a lot worse off, esp the agriculture and house building sectors.
    Sure they would.

There are 2,000,000+ people in this country in prison, and you are only worried about the illegal mexicans.

Normally I am very hesitant to throw out the racist card, but you pretty much fit the bill here.

illegal immigrants get welfare while the "legal" immigrants get MUCH more... their kids, american born or not, are innocent.

its a tradition of american to give everyone an equal chance, a long-time tradition that we all should be proud of... back in the earliest exploration years there were no white people or n!ggas living on this continent, they were all NATIVE americans who were living here but their were later exiled out of their homelands to make room for the new settlers. it was their fate and they had to accept it because america was a continent of freedom where everyone deserved an equal chance, the new settlers from europe came here with skills and technologies so they won the compe ion and the right to reside.

america was a crude land, which was cultivated by immigrants hands. things changed magically over the past centuries and america has become the world's best country to live in, but the old rules should never change.

immigrants, no matter legal or illegal, are better equipped with knowledge and skills and they work MUCH harder than we do, while most natives are lazy at work and reluctant to learn. immigrants are better educated and hence rewarded with better salaries as a result, don't complain about it brothers, they deserve it while we don't

they'll take our whole country over eventually and we'll be expelled out of our homes, it'd be a fair punishment for our laziness and for forfeiting our duties, we deserve to go and die...

congrats to you all immigrants, you WIN
