He brings tenacious defensive energy like Stevenson, only he can guard smaller, quick PGs, and is much better offensively than D-Steve. Not as high of IQ, but I doubt he ends up in too many situations where he has to make tough desicions, especially with Kidd out there. He definitely has a case to start at the 2.

But it makes me wonder what their plans are with him, Kidd, Roddy, Terry, and Carter, and how they intend on splitting minutes between those guys.

I agree on his positives. This team is extremely deep, but what a weird "mix" ...if the plan was to have Roddy take on JJB's role ...You guys just added a veteran while though a better defender, and a underrated post player ...I just dont see how he fits here ...but hey adding talent is never a bad thing but the chemistry may be off if they dont make a move to clear the log jam. I thought Last year's Mavs were extremely deep but the pieces fit perfect AFTER ...the Roddy and Butler injuries allowed Marion and JJB to shine. I have coached some good teams and my best steams had the right amount of talent not too much, otherwise players start ing and moaning ...and these are kids. Grown men making big bucks will be much worse ...
