2009 either, brah.
Just better music.
Never be a time like the 90's though.
Thumbs up if you agree.
don't know why this came up but did anyone else listen to Lulu? I had a morbid curiosity to check it out after hearing just how awful it was.
That album is pure comedy gold. The best way to listen to it is to close your eyes, imagine being at a normal Metallica concert, then outta nowhere a drunk old man comes onstage (it's even funnier if you imagine someone other than Lou Reed), grabs a microphone, and rambles a bunch of incoherent nonsense. Instead of anyone kicking him offstage, Metallica just kind of uncomfortably keeps playing. Also imagine James Hetfield tentatively trying to stick his face near the microphone to sing while the drunk old man keeps rambling. Seriously, I died laughing when I listened to it.
Comedy album of the year without a doubt.

thumbs up
80's really.
Sigh No More - Mumford & Sons
I know it didn't come out this year, but I hadn't actually given it a full listen-through till early this year.
that has to be older than this year.
Yeah, it is. I don't know if I've heard much this year otherwise.
(stuck in the 90's with the b3aner in the TOMS shoes.)
The new Roots album is great. Enjoyed both Kanye albums. Probably Watch The Trhone a bit more than his solo work (BECAUSE ITS PROVACATIVE).
However, after a few listens, El Camino is the best for me.
they're streaming the new Common album and i'm not sure where it'll end up on the list, but what i've heard so far is great.
rofl I wonder what the Metallica was thinking ever releasing that steaming pile of dog .
Insane how much better Megadeth is these days.
I think the 90's peaked when Pearl Jam released Nevermind and Anthrax came through with Cowboys from .
Lou Reed probably did all the thinking on that album.
edit: dumbass comment from me

90's music was good for like 2 years of the decade. 80's was good from start to finish.
80's were great but I don't think there's the quality across multiple genres that the 90's had.
i think it had more quality across more genres. electro, hip hop (breaking, mc'ing, dj'ing), new wave, rock, jazz fusion, industrial, on and on.
I could actually listen to Top 40 radio at the time or the weekly countdown and hear plenty of good stuff. Today, not so much.
Here's my favorites.
Seriously, this is your pants funny.
We'll never have a year like 2009 or 2007 again, sons
Most underrated album of the decade, brah. Gets overshadowed by MPP and Person Pitch but is superior in every way to both.
I can't see the YouTube link you posted, IM, but I'm guessing it's a song from Strawberry Jam.
1. The Horrible Crowes - Elsie
2. Metronomy - The English Riveria
3. Foster The People - Torches
4. Kyle Andrews - Robot Learn Love
5. Grouplove - Never Trust A Happy Song
6. AWOLNATION - AWOLNATION
7. Cage The Elephant - Thank You, Happy Birthday
8. Peter Bjorn & John - Gimme Some
9. The Limousines - Get Sharp
10. Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You
11. Wilco - The Whole Love
slim pickings....
what happened to great bands?
No one out there seems compelling anymore...I mean are there any acts that you would spend your hard-earned dollars on? To buy their CD's? To see live?
I can't think of any current acts that fit the bill....pretty in' sad....
