as far as Dojo goes, if he still can't shoot, then he's useless for this team.

wrong decision to play him in SUCH a game imho, dude was exposed in a forest of big beefy n!ggas and was pwned like an ass on both ends of the floor. it'd destroy his confidence if he has another two or three games like that tbh, just hope the best for him

Didn't watch the game but the kid had 17 points and 7 Assists so wtf are you having a meltdown for? Smh some of you people are comedy haha
Yeah I'm not sure what their issue is with him. He's not a perfect player, but definitely shows some promise and useful tools. Fantastic penetrator, and has a knack for drawing fouls. Very good passer off of penetration as well.

Obviously still not a great shooter (although improving), but that can come with time. Mavs should keep him around and continue to develop him. He seems to have a more natural feel for the game than Roddy, just not as skilled.

Wasn't basing it off his 17 and 7 last night. The guy has always been garbage and doesn't have an nba caliber jumpshot. I turn on the tv last night and he is just lost on defense, he was reponsible for giving up 3 threes in a matter of minutes. Harden and Maynor were just using the crown of his head as a rifle sight.

Pretty much everyone had moments where they were majorly lost on defense. It's called pre-season.

It's way too early to be overly high or overly low on any player. But being that he is a young player, that is obviously willing to work hard, and has some skills that could definitely be useful for an NBA team (driving, penetration, passing) he's certainly worth giving a shot at developing.

Wanna place a bet that he doesn't make the active roster?

    i would take that bet

he's not a normal rotation guy, but with the helter skelter schedule he will be forced into some action

No, because there is a fair chance he doesn't make the active roster, mainly because the team is so deep, and it would benefit the team more to have another active big man than a guard.

However, that still doesn't mean he isn't NBA material. JJB in his first couple years struggled to make the active roster, often was in the D-League. He didn't really get minutes until the 08-09 year (his third season with the Mavs), when they were razor thin at backup PG. We all see how he turned out to certainly be NBA material, when a lot of people thought he was far too flawed.

I just say give DoJo some time and a chance, he could certainly turn out to be a solid compe or if groomed right. If he isn't getting onto the active roster by next year, then I agree they should go ahead and dump him and move on to find another project to work on. I think 3 years (like with JJB) is a fair amount of time.

I think there is a better chance that Delonte West ends up being cut than DoJo, and if West struggles through the season, and DoJo steps in and plays well, West is a goner.

I have no backing to my claims, other than he lacks a jumper and messed up on defense in a pre-season game.
