Same here. They did a great job of recreating that nostalgic feel.

I love the 24-hour marathon they do every year. We usually have it on in the background Christmas Eve / Day, so it's become even more of a staple.

I was actually kind of depressed back when I first found out when it was made. I loved the old timey feel to it growing up so when I found out it was made in the 80s it was a big downer

We watch Gremlins every year for Christmas, although my favorite is still The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Gremlins is all good until it comes to that ed up part where she tells the story about her dad dying in the chimney. I'm not sure if that was just added for "horror" effect or what, but pretty sure they could've done without it.
