She knew the rules. Move on.
And yes, the Catholic Church will NEVER be able to live down the pedophile Priest issue. Never.
But I'm still Catholic and sticking to it.
In other words: you continue to support child molestation

The Catholic church is idiotic. That being said, don't work for idiots unless you relish idiocy.
Pretty much this. I can't sympathize with her when she knew about the rules she violated, and god knows I never side with religion.

All you have to do is read her contract:

The teacher will “comply with and act consistently in accordance with the stated philosophy and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the policies and directives of the School and the Archdiocese.”

She chose to get artificially inseminated- an obviously public choice against church teaching and thereby violated the terms of her contract.

Dias counters that contract is invalid because it isn’t applied equally to men or enforced on them. Her physical state made it obvious she was pregnant, but that’s not so for men who participate in artificial insemination, she said. “It’s a double standard. I’m suing so they can’t do this to any more women.’’

For Dias, the case is about what she believes is a rigid religious ins ution that refuses to adapt to modern life...
Statements like this will get her nowhere. Parents do not pay to send their kids to Catholic School to be taught by people with blatant disregard for the Church's teachings.

    "congress shall make no laws..."
doesn't give religious ins utions carte blanche to treat people anyway they see fit. there are minimum standards, even for churches. having said that, I doubt her suit goes anywhere.

IMO religious ins utions have the right to treat anyone who chooses to affiliate with them anyway they please.

It's just like that black basketball player who got kicked out of BYU for ing his girlfriend. He knew the rules, and he knew the Mormon religion's long history of racism. He only has himself to blame, as does this woman.

There's a double standard that is not fair to women. If men and women are considered "equal", then the church should allow women to be priests. Priests who sexually molest children should not be allowed to be priests anymore( they have broken their vows of refraining from sex!). ( does the state allow teachers to keep on teaching after they have been accused child molestation? of coarse not!) I don't know why the catholic church keeps on acting that way when more than half their priests are gets.

It's not a simple bread waffer to catholics, and of course they do it during a wedding when that's the time they have a big number of non catholics
Why would someone want to partake in a sacrament in which they do not believe?
Maybe they don't know that RCs believe it's the actual body of Christ, and they want to partake, as they do at their own church?

I'm just wondering what the RCC thinks will happen if a non-believer partakes. Will they burst into flames? My thought is that if you don't believe, and there is actually something to the RC belief, you just ate some bread.

Oh yeah, and although many would say "that was a coincedence", I know better.
