I said last year that Rose was overrated.
tbh he just would've injured something else eventually.
Frailty thy name is Manu
I said last year that Rose was overrated.
Kobe's in the conversation but the Lakers record aint that great. With Wade's health issues around, Lebron can basically run the Heat like the Cavaliers again but this time with much better teammates. Lebron will have the better stats and record and the voters will credit Miami's success to Lebron despite of Wade's absence.
Also, Lebron's consistency and youth over Kobe are his biggest strength. Lebron can practically ball at this level all season while I expect Kobe to hit a wall quite soon. Kobe will eventually come down to earth and finish the season at 27ppg 45%.
I'm just not so sure if the media are ready to give Lebron another MVP. I think its either KD or Rose again this year.
It's between LeBron and Kobe. Kobe has few more ppg, LeBron takes only around 20 shots / game, rebounds and assists way better, and plays elite defense. There are other candidates like Durant and Rose. It will depend on team success. Kudos to Kobe for keeping such level against prime compe ion. Another +40 ppg spree at 33 is something ridiculous.
Kool definitely owes DD head after this thread.
Had you actually watched the game instead of merely hoping for the worse for Kobe, you could see that nobody outside Kobe was taking advantage of better looks. Envy is such a bad human trait.
Man look-a-here....I don't wish that ing curse of an award on Kobe...ask yourself when was the last time an MVP won the le...It's been almost 10 yrs...the ing thing is a curse..mark may words the "MVP" almost always never win the le these days....![]()
Yes, Kobe is the MVP of the Lakers.
Rose is a badass, and shoudl be the early favorite along with Lebron ...
But again, who cares? If Kobe wins it wont change the haterz or the Kobe fanbois minds about his status in the game ...but winning another le without shaq and one without PJ would be pretty amazing.
Doubt either happens this year though ..
Why do Kobe fanbois come into threads like this and ask "who cares"? It's just one thread on the topic and why do they always try and knock MVP awards and say "who cares anyways?!!"
I'm surprised Cubby hasn't gone off on DD for ditching the lakers.
I've been wondering this myself for a while, I thought DD was a LA fan but then I saw Miami Heat. I was thinking this was a different dude.
Kobe is hurting his team. If he was out they would be better.
I fail to see why people think shooting the ball every time down the court makes you a great player. If you shoot the ball that much of course you're gonna score 40. Taking 3 pt shots from 35 ft is really MVP material?
All the other players are taken out of the game and rendered useless.
In Kobe's mind he probably thinks "Man I'm carrying this team my teammates suck", but in reality he's causing his teammates to suck and he's dragging the team down.
Carefull, man.
For a second it seemed you implied Lakers have a chance to win the le with their current playstyle.
Yeah, I get that all the time.
DD just jumping off bandwagons.
Kobe cannot be the MVP. He's the one holding the Lakers back, not promoting their success. MVPs aren't just scoring leaders, in fact they often aren't scoring leaders. They are team leaders, and Kobe is not a team leader.
I think Durant is a lock. Great scorer, great teamplayer, and OKC is actually good and with a great record. Kobe can get it, if the team starts to play better.
DPG, I was not saying the MVP doesn't matter to anyone. I said who cares if KOBE is the front-runner for MVP? It doesnt change anything for his supporters or his detractors. If he wins one it's still less than MJ Magic or Bird who won it when the award still had more meaning. Kobe fanbois love him regardless of snitching or 6 for 24 ...that was my point.
The legitimacy of the award is relevant to the topic. you dont like my thoughts don't read it. The award lost luster when they stopped giving it to Mj due to voter fatigue...even the one Kobe won, was debatable.
Ummm.....no. Putting up 40+ points for 4 games in a row doesnt make you the MVP of the league in the first 4 weeks of the season. Still have a loooong way to go.....
BTW, Probably the last no doubt about it MVP was Shaq in 2000.
When Nash won you could of argued Kobe or Lebron ...
Rose you could of argued Lebron or Howard
It just seems to be media politics ...you can ignore that if you like.
Or Tim Duncan in 2003. MVP and Finals MVP in the same year, hard to argue that, especially on the 2nd year of a b2b MVP.
