It's a pretty stupid and worthless hypothetical. Mike Vick winning a superbowl would mean he isn't an inaccurate, undersized chimp brained slave who breaks a rib every other week drinking Hennessy on the sidelines. In other words, it would mean he's actually a better QB than he is.
That comment was just because of the "a ring away" name Dilfer gave to that list of QBs. If Vick wins a ring he gets into the HoF, therefore he should be on that list. Otherwise he should have given it a different name.
He wasn't gonna put Vick in the "one ring away" category when Vick's only shot at ever winning a ring will be as a backup tbh.
Trent Dilfer was a superbowl QB so he knows not to do stuff like ignore your tight ends or throw into quadruple coverage which is prolly why he's so biased against the chimp QBs you love so much.

I also don't get how Dilfer implied his "A ring away" category literally meant "A ring away from being in the hall of fame"....it seemed pretty obvious that what he meant was that those QBs are a ring away from being in the elite class of the NFL. It wasn't a literal usage of "Hall of Fame".
tbh if Joe Flacco wins a ring he's a first ballot HOFer
