Rascal,
TP has been the third wheel in the Spurs Trinity. I've always been a big supporter of TP. He has not been appreciated like he should have been.
But, you can't deny he has been in the shadow of Tim and Manu during his career. Sorry!

That's cool for TP. I'm glad he made it if it's important to him, but I'm even more glad he got the recognition from who matters

lol from who matters
Those that matter made Kobe Bryant an all-defensive first team last year.
Either way, congrats Tony. Well deserved.
Well deserved TBH
Thanks Mel_13 for writing that. I thought that would have been obvious...but I guess not! LOL!
This is great for us. TD got the rest and Tony got the recognition, and it actually helps us in playoffs.
For Tim, everyone knows and thinks he is a superstar. For Tony, in terms of basketball itself, obviously not a superstar, some might even think he is not a real star.
Like it or not, NBA refs favor the stars, so being an all-star will help Tony get some favorable calls in the playoffs.
Wait, he is a reserve ?
Yawn .........
Are you drunk ?![]()

Who gives a , imo. So is Deron Williams.
Being named as an all star reserve is, frankly speaking, much more prestigious than being voted on as a starter by the masses.
If Bynum gets injured Timmay will make it for sure.
Why? It's cool to see a Spur there... but why actually care to the point of fear?
Well deserved honor for Tony. I hope he has fun and does not get some silly injury.
As for the Manu vs. Tony debate, one of the things I love about the Spurs is that none of the Big 3 give a rats ass who has what award. They just work well together and are professional and friends.
Congrats to TP for a well deserved 4th all-star selection.
Looking at the big picture, one of the positive of this selection is that it increases his odds at making the HOF. While I'm not a fan of the whole HOF concept, it would indeed be great to have a french player on it.
if pop went to tp more in the 4 and not manu spur fans would think tp is greater then manu
tp gets the team to the 4
tp now with manu injured is showing everyone he can carry the team in the 4
yea ducks
it is true most people in all sports blames what happens late in the game for the outcome of the game
in football missing the tying or winning field goal
in nba scoring points in the 4 or the player missing or making the game winner
Happy for Tony but a disrespect to Tim by most coaches.
duncan does not deserve it 8 games is not the first half
dirk does not deserve it this is
allstars are suppose to be based on THIS year not past season
Tim is better off staying home. Dirk rather be at home also.
Congratulations to Tony and the Spurs.
Eh, I'd rather Tony rest instead of playing. NBA should've cancelled the all star game this year imo
Greedy bas s.
It's good in that it gets Tony more exposure, Tim doesn't need that. To be quite honest, Tim was gifted an appearance last year.
I've always hated and dreaded these times when a player I really admire gets to this point in their career, but it's bittersweet; 4 championships for a team that never even made it to the Finals before he arrived. Congrats to Tony and here's to you Tim.![]()
