If TP can't get over his "mental block" just because Manu is back in uniform the guy is a mental midget and isn't going to lead the spurs anywhere. Let's hope that's not the case.
Probably could have traded TP for Rondo last week. Just sayin'.
No I dont. but that's not my point.

It's not like it's a new problem. I almost feel Pop doesn't want to get any decent bigs so he can continue to play small ball.
Might have been a good idea before Rondo reminded the Celtics what he could do with his ridiculous triple double. It's doubtful Parker ever gets a triple double in his career. Rondo had one with 17+ points, assists, and rebounds.
I can't understand the small ball love. We destroyed the Knicks small ball in '99. We used to dominate the Suns' small ball. Now the Spurs have become what they used to destroy.
Yep, that's what I meant. They were defenitely listening to offers then, probably still are but he could have been snagged for pennies on the dollar then. Probably could have snagged him and one of their extra bigs for TP. Oh well.
Such a stupid post.
Tony was his most passive in the first six minutes of the game, when Manu was on the bench. Once Manu checked in Tony actually got a lot more aggressive (probably after Pop told him about it on the bench) and he looked a lot more for his offense the final three quarters, regardless of whether Manu was on the floor with him or not.
You act like the second Manu checked in Tony just handed him the ball and slide over to the corner, content to be a bail-out three point shooter at the end of the shot clock and the offense went to . Parker took 16 shots in the game and Manu took 5. I don't want to hear it.
The Spurs lost because like the other poster said, Pop used too much small ball and couldn't guard anybody for when they were in that alignment. Also, they got outworked on the boards and guys like Jefferson, Green and Neal couldn't hit enough open threes.
Let me ask this. Since Tony and the rest of the team is struggling with Manu coming back, would you start just saving Manu for times that we really need some kind of spark and the rest of the team isn't bringing it? It might be only for a few minutes one night and more on another night depending on how the team is doing. Also it might keep Manu refreshed for the playoffs. The only concern is Manu's a rhythm player and if he doesn't get much time out there he can't come in right away and make things happen.
That's one of the dumbest trade idea you could come up with at this point.
The Spurs need them both. They are a handful to contend with when healthy, esp. in a 7 gm series. It's of great benefit to have each of them able to run the team in different ways. Puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenses to adjust and react in trying to contain them both. Each of them needs to dominate at different times during games. As Manu gets reacclimated I think the Spurs can reach a higher level of play than we've seen yet this year.
Your basing your conclusion on what 4, 5 games. Tony and MANU have been playing together for 9 years and have won 3 championships for us and your still saying they don't complement each other. I agree tony did an excellent job this season without MANU but you know it to that this team is going nowhere without MANU. Just look at the past playoff series. Obviously MANU and tony are still trying to get rhythm back and plus MANU is still trying to get back to game shape
I agree it sucks that I bring up yet another "trade Tony" idea (especially after I was propping his recent play) but the idea itself is not dumb. Rondo is just 26 with a lot of miles left on the odometer who can put up triple doubles in his sleep. He just put up a 18/17/20 game and amazingly still has room to improve IMO.
Just sayin'.
The one thing that is clear is when Parker is aggressive and plays with passion, we are tough to beat. Prime example was the recent OKC game where he took it to Westbrook. I've never challanged Parker's talent but he is aloof at times where as Ginobili plays aggressively all the time. Although, not always with good results.
I feel really good about this team if we are 100% healthy and I wish we would add another defensive big in to the fold, which is still a possibility. Those 3's won't be as open in the playoffs and we will need to grind out victories. That's where guys like Leonard, Green and Splitter will become even more critical as we go through the playoffs.
I think TP wanted Manu to start getting more steam TBH. A true team player. Non issue
