I don't know if this is true, and considering the sources, hard to say. Every depiction I recall seeing in movies and TV series has the president and vice president seldom interacting, and generally have staff contacting each other.
Upon watching the film, my immediate thought was that it portrayed Palin as so incredibly unaware of relatively simple political matters that it had to be highly fictionalized. After hearing more of the key players talk about what was going on, I'm convinced that I was wrong and that most of it was accurate.
I understand why the McCain campaign made the choice that it made, but 4 years hence, it still seems like a cynical choice that took a pretty dim view of the American voter.

And then the American voter bit them in the ass.
Hey, if Wallace, who was/is a Republican operative didn't vote in the election because of what they had learned about her, how could anyone be surprised that lots of independents (like me) took a look at it and said, "Hey, McCain is 72 years old now, has had a history of cancer and would be walking into a job that could easily kill him...and then we would get HER?" NO way!
I'm not a republican and I'm not a democrat. But I do pay attention...and what she showed me in that campaign scared the bejesus out of me.
What amazes me actually is the people who still feel that she is the next messiah. That is the power of populism, folks!!
Yes it was, but my favorite was the Fareed Zakaria clip, "The problem is not that she gives the wrong answer, it's that she clearly doesn't understand the question."
I thought it was a good movie. I am not a Palin fan at all, but I found myself feeling some empathy, especially the family aspect. The scenes of her watching the SNL spoofs were sobering.
Looking back at the failed campaign, my first thoughts were to immediately react with "Ugh stupid Palin wrecked that!"; but the movie did a good job of putting the blame exactly where it belonged, squarely on the shoulders of the McCain campaign.
Julianne Moore did a great job; I loved the look on her face as they were clarifying the roles of the Queen and Prime Minister![]()
and the look on their faces when she said "saddam hussein attacked america"
Still attacking a mother of a special needs child
Too funny.
its not just the kid with special needs.
Good movie and I think it will make people more aware of how manipulative and misleading the political process is.
Wasn't there a joke about Todd Palin banging his daughters on SNL? I think it was on an episode that had James Franco as the host. Can you imagine if that had been said about Mic e Obama? People would be calling for cancellation of SNL.
I don't think it was in very many places; maybe at the very beginning. Strange to see Peter Gibbons doing the debate prep.
Office Space is a classic.

I'll have to catch this later as I don't have HBO.
