Are those numbers actual, or estimated?

Get what you're saying, but the President has broader authority than what he can force through Congress - executive orders, rulemaking authority, recess appointments, and military decisions, to name a few. I'm not exactly inspired by either Obama or Romney, but Santorum's a disaster waiting to happen.
Totally agree.
If Santorum was a female, her name would be Crookshanks.
Obama is the poster boy for executive abuse. Him in a second term scares me much more than Santorum in a first term.
That being said, Santorum still turns my stomach. I am now firmly in the Romney camp as the lesser of evils.
Romney is pretty much a Republican-flavored Obama. They're not that far apart on a lot of issues.
Santorum is a jackass of all trades.
Not without controlling Congress, tbh... I expect him to be fairly lame duck, much like Jr's 2nd term...
Santorum claiming to be a conservative is like Stern saying that Donaghy was the only dirty ref. It's a big ass lie.
Ron Paul is the most conservative candidate in the GOP field.
Being a conservative means you want less government and less spending and you actually you try to save money.
People think banning abortion and killing gay people are conservative ideas. A true conservative would want abortion and gay marriage to be decided by either the states or local communities.
If Santorum gets the nomination I'm not skipping the election, I'll be voting for Obama and trying to get anyone I know to do the same. A President Santorum would pretty much destroy the Republican party if he did manage to win somehow. Fortunately the anti mormon bible thumpers won't be able to carry Santorum across the finish line....I hope.
So, you give yourself three choices in the Santorum scenario(Rick,Barak, stay home), but the "other" conservatives only have two in the Romney scenario? The problem with "true believers" in your camp is that they cannot make that pragmatic decision. There is a HUGE chunk of Santorum's base that believe that Romney is actually a real live apostate of , and they are MUCH more likely to stay home on election day than you are if Santorum gets the nod. It won't take that damn many of them, either, to tip the election. GOP margins are always small and well calculated in a non-in bant election cycle.
I don't think many people here understand that one of the biggest factors in who's going to win is voter enthusiasm. Its down on both sides of the aisle, but I definitely feel its down more on the GOP side regardless of who gets the ultimate nod. If its Romney, I doubt the south shows up in good numbers to vote. If its Santorum, I think the moderate GOP everywhere just sits it out. Obama is going to have people like me who will not vote for him all over the place, but - and this is just my anecdote although I think polling data will eventually back it up - the numbers are much smaller because people hate to turn their back on their guy.
Oh .!!!!
Yep. Romney not being able to motivate southern state evangelicals doesn't hurt the GOP's chances nearly as bad as Santorum not being able to motivate swing state moderates.
Crookshanks has probably the highest stupidity:post ratio in the political forum.
