I think someone said he's getting bought out? Isn't Jax the body that needs to get Bonner's minutes? Just think of the possibilities.

Get well soon Matt.
But not too soon.

No, man. Bonner with flaws is better than no Bonner at all and a rotation involving Duncan and small ball. I doubt if Pop is going to play Duncan and Splitter together and try small ball with Blair.
The next few games feature a back-to-back-to-back and something like 8 games in 11 days or the likes. Having a three man big rotation is going to be dangerous unless Diaw comes in immediately to contribute.
Bonner better get well quickly.
i'm all for him being perfectly healthy in the regular season and then breaking his arm the last game before the playoffs, a la Manu.
Anybody saying Bonner > small ball is re ed because there is no difference.
Stop wishing injuries on Spurs players, you're not a real fan![]()

Pekovic has an ankle injury, and only played 10 minutes in the Wolves last game. Doesn't really matter, since Darko pwns us too, but at least they have a frontcourt injury too.
J. Michael @jmikeNBAusat
RT @Twolves_PR: #Twolves will be w/out Nikola Pekovic against SA & OKC. He has flown back to Twin Cities for rehab on his sore left ankle.
This. Bonner being hurt is NOT good for Spurs despite what some think. You're down a big and you're down a 3 pt shooter. Splitter's early history with the Spurs is that he is injury prone, so I wouldn't relish any injury to any Spurs big at any time.
Spur fan celebrating one of their own being injured.
Unreal.
horrible fan base at times.
I would not consider SpursTalk Bonner haters representative of Spur fan. They're not even Spur fans. Bonner Derangement Syndrome is unique to this forum.
i don't want him out in the regular season when his warm body is needed to eat up mins.
But i will jump for joy if hes out for the playoffs. It will be the best thing that could happen to this team's chances for a 'ship.
I will gladly celebrate anything that helps the chances of the Spurs championship hopes.
No way. Bonner already has major flaws. If his shooting is the new added flaw, then it's not better. It's worse. Way worse.
Not saying that it's good he is injured. But to say that having him at 70% (or whatever the number is) is better than not at all? Ridiculous.

There is most definitely a difference between Bonner and small ball. Especially when your 4 was RJ. You can call Bonner "small" all you want but he defends opposing bigs and the pick and roll better than some of the small ball 4s we have trotted out in the past. Leonard and possibly Jax might be more viable as small ball 4s but there is definitely a difference.
Matt bonner is big, but he's not A big. Kawhi Leonard is a better option at the power forward spot for the minutes you don't give to Splitter. Given the fact that RJ and Finley were smallball fours, Jack is also an upgrade over both RJ and Bonner. At least with Jack or Leonard you know you're giving up weight or height and gameplan for it, plus you've got defenders that can recover from the double team. With Bonner, the Spurs spent way too much time just letting guys shoot over him.
During games we watch on TV, this is what I hear:
"Where's Bonner?"
"Parker - throw it to Bonner!"
"Get it Bonner, get the ball. Mom, he didn't get it again." (regarding rebounding)
"Bonner needs a rest and some Gatorade. He's sweating."
A Spurs fan only a mother could love.![]()
At least he recognizes some other players now. Last year, he only knew Bonner. This season, he knows Parker, Duncan, Manu and Neal too. Though he knows Manu more for the HEB commercials than for playing, unfortunately.
your kid sounds adorable.
Hopefully you guys can get him on the SJax bandwagon.
lol that's a pretty smart 3 year old.
I'm glad he's not afraid of clowns![]()
As you and OV pointed out, that was maybe the case when we had Fin or RJ out there at the 4. But honestly i would have rather had RJ out there for small ball then Bon Bon. RJ and Bon Bon would get regularly steamrolled by their man but at least RJ had the occasional weakside block.
As this team is presently constructed, small ball is a much better option than Bonner as PF. Name one PF that Bonner would handle better than Kawhi.
More pressure on the FO to get Diaw. Perfect timing.
His club sammiches are way better than Bowens' were.
