I've got a very short, funny story on Bruce.

Last year, I'm visiting San Antonio for Labor Day weekend. I meet some friends at a fund-raising event / mixer at a posh lounge in North San Antonio. I'm stainding outside in front of the lounge, talking to one of my college buddies, whose fraternity is hosting this social. All of us sudden, a sleek, shiny, silver Mercedes pulls up and parks. Up walks a tall, slender casual, but impeccably-dressed, Bruce Bowen. He stands behind me, thinking I'm in line. I turn to him and say, "you can go up, my man. I'm not in line". He thanks me. As he's passing me, I ask him, "hey Bruce, since the Spurs are having some defensive issues, can you suit up and give us about 10 mins per game of tough defense?". He smiles and says, "in my state, I couldn't give even 10 secs of anything at this point. It's a young man's game. I'll leave it to them."

Priceless. He really strikes me as a good dude.

This being said, congrats to Bruce for an awesome run with the Spurs. Glad to see his jersey hanging in the rafters.
