another overrated dude imho, kobe shot piss poor the past games and for sure mamba ain't anymore that guy who could dribble off the double and still make it, but its unfair to blame him for the whole tbh. sessions just a one-dimensional scorer he ain't havin no business how to run the court & clear the floor for teammates, i think there's a reason why the lakers run 5-4 since sessions joined and mike brown would rather start steve ing blake in big games instead of him

Neither are the Spurs, but it doesn't stop you guys from getting excited about new players (Leonard). We can be excited about Sessions while realizing our team's fate. It's called being realistic. Had you guys channeled this train of thought last year (tempered expectations) you wouldn't have had an emotional meltdown after Game 6 last year.

Sessions is legit. I don't think he transforms the Lakers into a Western Conference le contender, however, I do think he transforms them from 2nd round fodder into a dangerous darkhorse.

The West has no dominant or even close to dominant teams, so IMO the Spurs are a contender. They also no longer have who was more or less a toxic presence on the Spurs during the playoffs the last two years.

If I had to bet on it though, I'd say Bonner and Blair get too many minutes and that's what loses them a playoff series.

I think it will depend on matchups. He's had some really efficient scoring games (i.e. 7/10 FGAs). I would love to see MB cut him loose but for now I'm content with about 7-9 dimes and 10-15 ppg. Those dimes means that the bigs are getting their touches in their sweet spots and more importantly the scrubs are contributing.

MB should have cut him loose on WB. WB is no way near an all defensive team defender. I have a su ion that the next time(s) we play things won't be so one sided.
I just don't think he's what you want him to be. But we'll see.. I'm not saying Sessions is bad or isn't an upgrade over Fisher... I just think he's much more of a scoring guard on the mold of Parker, Westbrook... speed and penetration... I don't think "pass first" really is his game...

I'm not saying you melted down, but certain spurfans among us took that loss very badly and had to be settled down.

I almost never homer out for the Spurs, and knew last year's fun-and-gun style was doomed to fail in the playoffs (I still think the Spurs should've beaten Memphis), but I believe this team has a legitimate shot at winning the Western Conference. The Spurs are a much better defensive team on the perimeter now with the subtraction of RJ and the addition of Leonard and Jackson. Last year's Spurs were typically outmatched at the 3 spot, now the Spurs often outmatch their opponent at the position and/or have the horses to defend the superstar 3s of the league, like Durant.

A Duncan/Splitter/Blair/Diaw frontline isn't by no means a weak frontline (I know Spurs' fans hate Blair, but matched up properly, he's a very effective player in the vein of Milsap/Maxiell, a player who can disrupt the inside with his energy). Compared to the Lakers, sure, but what frontline in the league isn't? I'll put this frontline against Memphis's Randolph/Gasol combo any day of the week.

This team is much improved and much more balanced than last season's SSOL Suns impersonator. My primary concerns are Ginobili's health, Duncan losing the all-star form he's seemed to regain once the playoffs begin, and Pop under-utilizing Splitter.

You got straightened out by Jackson & Diaw quitting, killing their coach and Pop signing 'em.

A consciousless strategy, but, I certainly wouldn't eschew it.

Unlike many Spurs' fans, I like Blair's game, but within a certain context. The problem is that Popovich thinks he's a starter when he should be coming off the bench to beat up the opposing team's scrub backup bigs (like the McRoberts and Collisons of the league).

On this note, what kind of terror did you feel when the Spurs signed Bob Horry?

    At that point, it was:

    Kobe: 3

    Duncan: 2

i can tell lakers latest 2 game winstreak against nba hornets and warriors, is really getting lakerfan excited, even dd is able to put aside his disdain for nba's most overrated position, pg.. even narutoluva came out of hiding, to spread his kobe gospel
lakers would be legit contenders if kobe wasn't such a , does lakerfan honestly think, the Chucker once playoffs come will actually utilize his frontline properly, even though he's been chasing scoring records all asterisk season? good luck with that scros

    almost forgot

    sessions next year allstar
    blake
    mike brown=championship
    ties ankle
    no bench
    nutcase world peace

Lots of gems in this thread. TP went 2-12 at the sight of Ramon. Like I said, I am no longer afraid of PGs like TP no more. Here is Ramon's hit list so far:

    CP3 (twice)
    D-Will
    TP

    You're welcome,

Bad bump. Ramon had nothing to do with how ty Parker played tonight. It was because of Bynum and Gasol's presence in the paint.

Ramon also had a stellar 5 assists to 4 turnovers and was pretty much irrelevant the entire game.

He's in nip land, so he just boxscore watches and tells himself: "hurr-durr, Parker was 2-12 so it musta been because of Ramon!"

You are partially right for two reasons:

    1) They did not show this game on Armed Forces Network!
    2) No Fisher. Even with our twin towers, TP got his on the regular. (now that ).

So it must have been the thought of having to play Sessions. That's the only uncommon denominator. Or shoud I say dominator!

Ramon was awful tonight, imho. His handles were shaky, he was indecisive, and he shot the ball with a lot of hesitancy. He did a decent job keeping Parker in front of him, and the few times he blew by him Bynum stuffed his or altered his shot.
