What's up with everyone picking Rose, now that his athleticism is blown? If dude can't pass the SAT you think he's going to read NBA defenses and run a team?
If I was picking a PG to start a team this would be the order I would choose them:
Paul
Williams
Rose
Rondo
Westbrook

1. williams
2. paul (though his disappearing act this series hurts his stock)
3. parker (it's his ceiling, spurfan)
4. rose
5. rondo
6. nash
7. conley
8. lawson
9. dragic
10. lin
ahhahahaha joke.
10. teague. I like teague.
EDIT - forgot westbrook. he's #3. Maybe #2.
CP3
Rose
TP
Westbrook
Rondo
But CP3 is clearly ahead
Williams? Really?
1. Paul
2. Westbrook
3. Parker
4. Rondo
5. Nash
6. Williams
7. Irving
8. Dragic
9. Lowry
10. Conley
yep. he's a class above.
if history has shown as anything, a truly great pg needs good players around him. williams was great with OK role players in utah. he has literally all in NJ. put pieces around him and he's too big, too strong for that little ex NO .
I don't think Williams is in any sort of class of his own, but I definitely don't see a problem at putting him interchangeably with CP3, which would be right at the top in most people's lists.
That is the issue on pure ability and raw talent yes, but SO FAR neither have demonstrated anything as far as leading teams, Paul had in NO early on a very strong team and Williams has also caused a coach to at least indirectly be fired.
Even Rose who I would actually put at or near the top when healthy has not been able to get even to a finals.
Parker is the proven commondity who can break down defenses and was the main man responsible for holding the Spurs near or at the top of the West 2/3 of the season and has remained brilliant. He has a finals MVP and should have been a top three in MVP this year over Paul IMO. It would not be unexpected for him to capture a 4th le and a 2nd MVP with his improved play, talent and maturity.
Parker right now is TOPS in true value and only Westbrooke who Parker has outplayed head to head or Rondo has a chance to still beat him head to head in a series this year.
Rondo is actually a interesting PG he does not need to shoot and has had some sick triple doubles including one that had as I recall over 15 boards.
Sticking by my list as in particular Paul has just not delivered enough in the clutch for all his accolades and talent. Winning trumps flash and Parker has done that the most and this year was the person who kept the Spurs relevant and still is breaking down defenses and running circles around "higher rated" PGs with impunity or dropping 40 on their asses.

5. Rose
6. Williams
7. Lawson
8. Nash
9. Irving

I'd add Lawson in the top 10 probably like 9. Dude had a very good playoffs and will only get better.
tbh PG is just not an important/impactful enough position for the great ones to lead his team to championships.
lin has the biggest market value imho, if he gets back from injury and continues to play like he did in april he'd be LOCKED for the eastern ASG starting PG next 10yrs in a row, we got YAO 2.0 here we go
truth right here
perhaps the only exception was Isaiah Thomas, but he had a very complete and well rounded team around him, more so than most superstars have.
George Hill deserves to be on the list.
How long is the list?
Paul
Deron
Westbrook
Parker
Rondo
I'll wait and see how Rose is when he comes back, but that's the top 5 for now.
OP is clearly trolling with those rankings...anyways:
Paul
Rose
Rondo
Williams
Parker
Westbrook
I did six as Parker and Westbrook are somewhat tied at this point.
