The good news is other than the Thunder, everyone in the West is still a bit away. Not sure where the Lakers are going, Clippers will only be so good with Vinny at the helm, who else? Memphis could take a leap? Dallas has put all its eggs in the Williams basket...

Really, I think it could be us and the Thunder. But, the chances we have so much health again is small. Which is why this hurts so bad.

Yeah the silver lining is, it's not like there are a ton of deep teams in the league. All roads lead through OKC. You can build an offseason around what it would take to beat them. Luckily for one Derek Fisher won't be back...

    Wow. That's interesting.

I think the lack of depth in the frontcourt is more serious. Somehow, I can't get the thoughts of last year's Memphis series out of my head - not to mention watching the Thunder waltz, unescorted down the lane in getting to the rim for another rim-rattling dunk.

Backup PG is important, but to me, an ass-kicking PF/C is priority.
That Memphis series we saw lots of Bonner, Blair, and Dice and virtually no Splitter until it was too late. Plus Splitter hadn't played enough in the season to really be expected to do much last playoffs. I'm ok with Splitter as the 3rd big and Diaw starting at PF. You could certainly upgrade Blair and especially Bonner, but right now Parker is the only legitimate point guard on the roster.

Idk about 2nd seed, Thunder, Jazz, and Grizz will all be better, and we will be one year older. Rockets also can be compe ive as well. The West will be stacked next year.
The Lakers will be better. They always find a way to pull something off. If it wasn't for Stern stopping Paul from going to LA they would be coming out of the west this year.

Just like the last 2 seasons, I think the spurs will take the #1 seed again. I can't predict another 20 game win streak but I think it's going to be another great season. Spurs aren't finished yet.

    • Spurs will earn a #1 seed
    • Their offense will be unstoppable
    • Tony Parker will have an MVP-level season
    • Bonner, Green, Neal etc. will shoot over 40% from 3-point land
    • Timmy D will look 10 years younger
    • Manu will be injured most of the season
    • ... and once again, they'll fall short in the playoffs, breaking the hearts of Spurs fans everywhere.

Yes they make the playoffs. They will be the number one seed again next year.
James Anderson leaves for free agency and gets replaced with George Hill. We need to sign or trade for another big man. Blair is good for regular season, but is useless for the playoff vs bigs.

Trade Bonner, Blair and a 2nd for a big man (Hibbert, Kaman)
Play the bench more during the season for experience (Mills, Joseph)
Bring in Lorbek, Richards, DeColo for serious compe ion (training camp)
And please, please learn to hold a 20 point lead! (we should have at least three more banners hanging up in the rafters.)

I do agree that James Anderson won't be here next year, but I don't think we will be able to afford to bring Hill back and I don't see the Pacers trading us Hibbert for Bonner, Blair, and a second round pick.

Maybe 2nd seed. I think it's clear where we need to improve after this playoffs. Wish we can trade into the first round of the draft and get a young talented big and also get a better backup pg.
