So what, Knicks said they would match any offer up to $1 billion. What happened to that? LOL.![]()
10/10 troll job, but how did rockets pull this off, why 8 mill them and 15 for knicks?

Houston has the asian population to support Lin, its best if NY signs Felton.

I was wondering what Zach Lowe was talking about when he tweeted this
@ZachLowe_SI
"Grunwald speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom. He'll blend in, disappear. You'll never see him again."
Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN
The Knicks have acquired Raymond Felton and Kurt Thomas from Portland for Jared Jeffries and Dan Gadzuric, sources tell the Daily News
Lin has practically played 23 games in the NBA and has signed an offer sheet that will pay him $25 mil (~ $8.33 mil avg) over the first three years of his playing career. Dude isn't an Harvard grad for nothing. He probably doesn't need an agent.
Wicked Nerd Pissah!!
This has nothing to do with Morey, the moron just wants China's dough.
Harvard Economics FTW!![]()
Isn't that the same loophole use for asik
I believe so. I just hope Chicago matches or Rockets rescind, if they can do that.
@ found loophole. Anyone can read the section on the Gilbert Arena Provision in Larry Coon's FAQ.
In short, Lin gets all his money with either team, but the cap hits for the two teams are apportioned differently. For the Knicks it would have been 5/5/15, for the Rox it will be 8.3/8.3/8.3.

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine
Also told Rockets, even if they unexpectedly land Lin AND Omer Asik, still think they've got Dwight trade offers (yes, plural) to please ORL
If Rockets sign Lin to a contract for three years and $25M, they can pay him $5M in yr 1, $5M in yr 2, and $15M in yr 3. For the Rockets cap it counts the average ($8.33M/yr), but for NY it would count actuals...so in 2014/15, Lin would count for $15M against the cap, and as a luxury tax team that $15M could represent more like $40M.
son they'll get outside support like they did with Yao, but Houston is not a heavily Asian populated city ...
NYC - 486,463
Houston - 29,429

Yeah, it's funny that they trolled NY, but now they're stuck paying Lin's yellow ass $25 million. I'm trying to figure out who actually won here.
lin is like einstein in the nba, with that harvard degree monkeyball stands no chance
Lin Contract > Players good enough to get drafted
If Duncan can dominate the NBA with a psychology degree...
Danny Green got 3yrs/12 mil
sons you have to keep in mind that the Rockets (or any NBA team interested in Lin) are not bringing him in to improve the team. they are bringing him in for the amount of revenue that comes with the fact that the media is racist and worships him for one reason and one reason only ... he is a semi-decent baller who just so happens to be Asian.
Realistically Lin is probably "worth" around $3-5 million per year for his performance on the court, but he is worth at least double that for the amount of media attention and extra revenue that comes with the fact that he is Asian. that is what Houston is paying for. they get a decent player to fill the spot and a load of extra attention with it.
The only winning party here is Jeremy Lin.
Jeremy Lin's autobiography should read "How I parlayed a month of good basketball playing in the NBA's biggest media market into a huge contract".
Houston had a good pg on a good contract for the next couple of years. They go rid of him to overpay Lin.
Plan A- Get a star in the league--Failed
Plan B- Put together a squad--In action
If it was a troll job, it failed IMO. Houston could have had Dragic at 8M per year and let him walk over a 4th year. Then they traded Lowry, who will get less than 6M for the next two years, for a draft pick. Then they used the amnesty on Scola to save 21M over the next three years. All to give 25M over the next three years to Jeremy Lin.
Morey
dumbest FO in the Southwest Division
Advanced Stats
no long term planning
outwitted by the Grizzlies FO
Son, I wouldn't be surprised if Toyota, the Rockets sponsor, had a hand in all this...
