    There's your red herring

    Kobe quitPERIOD
Why did they need Kobe though?

I thought Kobe was just a selfish chucker who rides big men and isn't even better than Pau in his prime, so why did they need him when you have Mr. I win with no help Duncan there?

No Spurfan, he withdrew because he's a selfish prick and just got his balls stomped into the ground by Tayshun Prince.

No matter how mad you get Dwight ain't coming to San Antonia

So why did Duncan refuse to participate in further Olympics?

good Lord sons every time I even think about that 2004 Olympic disgrace it makes me sick. completely unbelievable the lack of character, heart, and pride for the country that Duncan and a few of the other players had.

but...but...but .... it was because of the refs!

sons I don't give a if Vince McMahon himself was the lead official, the fact that Duncan couldn't lead the U.S. past Greece and ing ITALY is a complete disgrace.
son this is a truth bomb if there ever was one

But if Welfare Queen Bryant was nearly as great as you claim, why was he too scared to play in 04 and had to be begged to play in 08? Too scared and too selfish to represent his country, tbh....

Look at Marbury scoring the most points for his team in an elimination game.

Look at Boozer and Odumb getting more rebounds than Duncan.
Duncan was in foul trouble most of the game (and tournament, actually)... nevertheless, that team had very poor 3 point shooting

Tim Duncan is the ultimate quitter:

After the tournament, Duncan commented, "I am about 95 percent sure my FIBA career is over. I'll try not to share my experiences with anyone."

No matter how mad you get - Kobe is not the owner of a Bronze medal...

    Lebron is
    Wade is
    Bosh is

and most importantly - Timmy is....a fact: his tramp stamp and tongue ring cost way more than that ing bronze medal

Duncan didn't quit. You have to be on the team before you can quit. Kobe was on the team and he quit.

    Bottomline:

Kobe - 5x NBA Champion, 2x Olympic Gold Medalist
Duncan - 4x NBA Champion, Olympic Bronze Medalist

Why was Kobe ok with attacking a helpless young white girl in Colorado under the security of the US forces yet afraid to take his chances against teams like Italy?

Duncan needed Kobe as much as Wade needed Kobe in 08 or Lebron needed Kobe in 12... not at all. That 04 team needed better shooting and a true PG. Heck, the year before Kidd and T-Mac were playing with them and they beat Argentina by like 30 pts (with Duncan)... then they both quit.

Tbh, you have to admit Duncan was very underwhelming in the semis. Bigs make the biggest difference and he was out-performed by Lamar Odom.
