Are you in a flood zone EN?
Still have electricity here.... heavy rain and wind... but the worst is yet to come...
Are you in a flood zone EN?
I guess we didn't have any big storms before we could see them with satellites...
Reports are saying that the water levels are already where there were in the middle of Irene and the storm has not even arrived yet. Holy .
Yup. The tide gauges all over the area are at Irene levels and....its LOW TIDE.
The bay and the ocean have already "met" in Ocean City, New Jersey. Everything between is underwater. Main storm wont even be there until tonight.

And Bloomberg was playing down a day ago. ing moron.
Those pics are at least an hour ago, maybe more. By tonight and tomorrow morning the Jersey coast will be under water.
Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, and parts of Long Island are also projected to have massive surges.
Just read about the latest wind field...you are right Manny...this is unheard of. TS force winds that span 960 miles in diameter? That's hard to wrap my mind around.
A big problem in NYC with the winds will be the skycrapers being so high above ground. Hurricane force winds at the surface will be much stronger as you start to go up in the atmospere so those buildings will feel a lot more stress than lower buildings. They should be fine, but any debris breaking windows and what not can cause a lot of damage.
Nope. About half a mile away from a possible surge zone though.
One August evening at ground level, it was hot, humid, windless, miserable. Went to the top level of Eiffel Tower, and got wind-whipped and blue with shivering. Crazy difference.
Easy to understand the move to build wind turbines with much longer blades and much higher.
Avalon and all that area had mandatory evacuations... the whole coastal areas have inter-lakes and it's all going to get flooded.
Man I hope people stay indoors. I've been in a few of these nor-easters when I was in school and you get zero visibility really quick. Basically like being trapped in a blizzard with cold, wet weather and not being able to see. Very life threatening.
Where did you get that from? He's been on TV telling people to take this seriously pretty much non-stop.
Winds are starting to get pretty damn strong in my area. This is gonna be nuts tonight.
He was saying they didn't expect it to be as big as Irene recently. I don't have a link to the video but I saw it. He's a moron. Pretty much everyone in the weather and emergency response communities I follow hate him because he handles this so badly. They've actually given Christie a good deal of praise.

(also Avalon, NJ)
Those pieces of floating debris are part of the boardwalk that should be in the picture.
I hope that pic was taken with a huge zoom lense.
