I think the point when Washington looked like they would break away was when Blair AND Bonner were in. Yuck.
Thanks everyone! You are too kind. I have always admired timvp's dedication to writing "Game Thoughts". Especially when he writes them without benefit of going back to review the game DVR to refresh the memory. I'm sure Bruno or others who've written "Game Thoughts" would tell you...even though the insight may be there....it's the organization of thought and clarity of expression in the late hours that makes it difficult. By the way, 'sorry for the typos.
I totally agree that the first half D by the Spurs was substandard. Especially, considering they were playing against the Wizards' non-stars. Their Bigs - Barron, Vesely and Booker - accounted for 60% of the Wizards' 1st half points. Timmy, Boris, Matt and DeJuan were put to shame. The 2nd half was a different story. The Spurs increased their intensity on D and held Washington to 27% and 29% shooting in the 3rd and 4th quarters respectively. That's why the Spurs were finally able to take the lead.
It's particularly concerning to me that the Spurs have supposedly emphasized their defense in camp. The Spurs won't be playing against NBA spares next week.

Is there anything Bonner can do that Jackson can't, shoot, defend or rebound? The reason for the question is if there is none, I really don't see any reason to use Bonner, If Pop's reason is to stretch the floor , jackson can do that playing the 4. while adding better defense, rebouding and obvouisly better all around scoring. even as a Power forward. As to Jackson loosing minutes at 3, well kawhi is a horse (can play heavy minutes) and the emergence of green who can alternate at the 3 spot more than makes up any minutes you would loose from Jackon spreading his time from playing both the 3 and 4 spot
Jackson as a Battier-type PF would be something I'd like to see, tbh. Kawhi needs to play around 30 mpg, he's young and not exactly injury prone.
Seems like this is what Pop did in the playoffs. He's likely to play much deeper in the roster in the regular season...Bonner, Blair etc. There's no question Jax is better at everything!
I forgot to compliment u on the thread.. good read
Lol thanks, Chopper. Dude, I haven't talked with you in a long time. Sup?
Life is busy, but good...however, I need more time to post here. Sorry I've been the invisible man!
Gtg in SA this year?! I need to take in one game with Solid. We'll bring the mojo...5th ring time...nothing like being the 3rd best team on paper in the West. Good time to win it all I think.
