If Pop's smart, he holds Blair out for one more game and claims it's for precautionary reasons. Then, he starts Splitter and utilizes a three big rotation. He also avoids having Splitter guard Howard, so long as both Duncan and Diaw aren't in foul trouble. If, for whatever reason a fourth big is needed for spot minutes, then it should be Jackson (but only when Jamison is playing PF).
i agree with the blair thing, but the lakers team is just bad talent-wise to make adjustments just for them. Let's just play as we normally do and they have no chance.

Lakers still suck against run and gun teams. Spurs hit shots or/and get boards and this is Spurs W.

Should be a good game…Especially considering all of the adversity the Lakers have been surrounded by these past couple of years…Losing their All-Star center to the 76ers….Losing their best PG to the Bobcats…Losing their 6th man of the year to Dallas…Losing their Hall of fame coach to poor health…It is what NBA fans love about the Lakers…Even though the chips maybe down they don’t let it get to them…They just keep plodding along…

Spurs drop this one. Artest goes for 7 3s and TD fouls out. Pop ejected. Typical laker game bull

More like Dwight and Gasol take turns dominating Duncan.

So have old man Timmy guard the faster/stronger Dwight Howard the whole time? Doesn't sound smart to me. Splitter played decent against Howard last year, so I'm sure he's up to the task.
No need to play it like a playoff game, this early in the season.
"Old man Timmy", who's been about the best big in the league for a good amount of the calendar year (granted, Howard getting injured and still not being quite right obviously played a major role in that, but still). Duncan will look physically over matched at times, but he's a good Howard defender because he knows how to bait him and get him frustrated. I'm not really worried about Duncan defending him, I'm worried about anyone else having to. But someone has to do it and that someone should be Diaw. Splitter is better suited to defending Gasol.

Raven, they're extremely top heavy, but it's not as if they don't possess a major challenge to the Spurs (and to every other team for that matter), given that their biggest strength is the Spurs biggest weakness.

Howard, Gasol, and Hill will play volleyball on the glass, Artest will hit 5 threes, Darius Morris will have the game of his life, and Kobe will actually shoot a respectable percentage.

Spurs lose by at least 15.

Spurs should have the advantage right now. They have the better bench and chemistry. But, considering this is the Lakers, I expect the game to be very tough.

I'm already dreading the Bonner/Blair combo trying to guard the Lakers' frontline. Please don't be soft today, Splitter and please be fine, Manu.
