doesnt make sense at all, china was already losing t he war against the japs, i dont think the japs will have a problem fighting off the russians or at a standstill depending on americas involvement without the nuke, and hitler not giving up even if he continue to lose manpower in that winter war...

You know the Japs didn't immediately surrender after the US dropped those A-bombs on their sushi heads, but after the Russians declared war on them and kicked their asses hard. The fact is that the Japs still had plenty of land troops in Manchukuo as well as on those occupied chinese lands, but they were still NO match to the Russian red army. I guess that if the Russians had declared war on Japs in 1943 (when the Germans were already in the process of strategic retreat), there would've been no battle of Iwoshima and hundreds of thousands of young American lives would've been saved. Russians always had overwhelming military advantage over the Japs in the far east, which was strong enough for them to defeat 10 Japans combined, but the big-nosed assholes never intended to start fighting the Japs until the allies begged them to do so on Yalta conference. The gots agreed to fight the Japs, but not before the atom bombs were dropped, and the only reason they finally joined the Pacific war zone was because they wanted a share of the victory cake in the pacific region. The Russians and Japs remained peace from 1937 (the year Japan launched the invasion on china) all the way up to 1945, during which time the two sides were just belligerent enough to each other to not become allies, tbh.
Russians had nothing to do with the war against Japan until the sushibreaths were already deadbeat after almost 8 years of dogfight with s, and especially after the US dumped two mini-suns on their heads which totally destroyed their confidence and pride. s were basically fighting the Japs on their own throughout the process (from 1937 to 1945), with most their weapons being Great War level, yet still managed to hold them Japs to a draw. Both sided suffered heavy casualties and losses before the s finally achieved the pyrrhic victory.

And if you check their records from 1940 onward you'll find that most battles ended up being victories for them s, as opposed to the battles fought when the war had just begun (when the Japs were kicking asses because the s were unprepared)

If you wanna some video game that may help you learn more about the real history, I highly recommend Hearts of Iron, a grand strategy game where you can play as ANY country through the years from 1936 to 1948 (you can even make the game infinite, setting the end-year to 2999 using an editor, if you want). Not only the historical events are real, but also the cities and map, the political systems of countries and the relationships between different countries, the military info and even the generals' names are real... because the game was made in a completely free land known as Sweden.

Read up about the Mongolian border skirmishes between Russia and Japan in 1939...they never formally declared war, but there was bitter bloody fighting at Lake Khasan and Khalkin Gol--where Gheorgy Zukov (Russia's most gamous general) first earned his stripes and saved himself from the purges.
Without a Hitler/German Reich to worry about in the west you can best believe the Russians would've finished the deal sooner. Remember those 2 countries have hated each other for years (see 1905)
^ they were fighting the Reich and they had every reason to avoid fighting on two fronts at the same time but it was still no legit excuse for standing off watching the Japs massacring millions of s, without sending anything (in the form of weapons or supplies) to their yellow comrades who were fighting the Japs with stones and sticks. I believe that Japan and Germany were allied from 1941 onward till the end of war, and if they were at war with Germany at the time, wasn't they supposed to be also at war with Japan as well? They might be minor conflicts on the borders with Mongolia and Manchukuo (both puppet states of Japan), but no major conflict or fire exchange happened between Russia and Japan until 1945 imho, which's hilarious considering the big-nosed gots were supposed to be allied with US, UK, France, s etc...
But why were the Russian s more interested in fighting in Europe, conquering/occupying those European countries and inculcating communism in those countries, rather than helping the s fight Japan? Because China (or the entire Asia barring Japan) was still pretty much a pisshole, which means expanding their influence to such a land was supposedly put in a lower place on their priority list.
Don't forget, your yellow ancestors had no iden y in the 30s and 40s...they were a primarily Nationalist state infighting with commies (and well behind the times in industrialization) then while USSR was a communist one. Truth, and that's another proof why Russians are assholes. They'd rather help their comrades to fight and kill their own yellow brothers just because those brothers were "nationalists", than assist the s as a whole in fighting the FASCISTS!!! Germany and Japan both surrendered, but it was hardly a victory for the Allies when the big-nosed assholes as a nation stood still.
