Pop could have saved that 250.000 for the Spurs, but tbh now I think it was a message for Stern about how the refs called the last two playoffs games vs OKC.

While one feels outraged at this travesty of "justice", I think Pop & his Spurs are staying true to their motto of keeping it "players first". If anything, this adds pressure on the NBA league office, the referees to play it fair and correct vis-a-vis the Spurs or else, considering the backlash that Stern has received, anything untoward will only make it even more ugly for David Stern and his minions.

Spurs should really mess with Stern and list Duncan, Ginobili and Parker as "DNP - Flu-Like Symptoms" for the Portland game.

    Was there any doubt?
There was a lot of doubt by many on here.

I thought they paid the fine. There was no reason for Stern to let the Spurs off and not pay the fine.

Spurs office should put the fans first, not the players ... fans could've used a 250k discount towards parking and beer.

So would the majority of the board actually prefer to start a pride war against the commissioner?? I doubt we would end up on top. The odds are stacked against us as it is.

I agree with your signature sir. I salute you.

I hope they paid in pennies. Or barrels of oil. Or shares of Groupon. Or Richard Jefferson jerseys.
The fans tried that once. After a really ty call in our first NBA playoff series back in the day (Washington Vs. Spurs), our coach Doug Moe said enough to get a fine ($12,000??) Fans started a drive and collected pennies. I don't think the NBA would accept them but it was fun and let the coach and team know we supported them.

Spurs would have been worst off fighting this. Good move.

To move the mass required of this form of payment, they would have to pay far in excess of the original 250k on delivery charges alone.

Is there even a warehouse (or an airplane hanger) which could store this amount?

    Spurs cancel check,

    Check bounces,

    Stern's blood pressure rises,

    Stern gets stroke.
