no one extorted anything from Obama, he started off negotiating with himself in order to try and get some Republican support (when he didn't need it) and when that didn't work, he pushed through a "negotiated" bill anyway (instead of what he really wanted). That was the springboard that showed your "repugs" that they needn't worry about Obama. they knew he would cave, and he did over and over. Had he not started his first term like that, this fiscal cliff thing would have been over last year. You can't expect him to get a spine, use it, and others believe that he has one right away, he is gong to have to take us over the fiscal cliff for them to start taking him seriously.
