I've never been to those cities. Very interesting, Slomo. I didn't realize Skopje had so many minarets and mosques (Turk's influence?).
Don't forget to add the watermarks on the pics, Slomo.

Yeah, they were part of the Otoman Empire for many centuries. People often forget the the Turks were great and relentless conquerors. On one of their more succesful campaign they were stopped just short of Vienna. Although Slovenia was never ruled by the Turks, you can still see many fortified old churches perched on hill tops in our countyside. Those were the last refuges for villager fleeing the many Turkish invasion attempts.

Well, it was in poor taste, I apologize for the remark and I am deleting it.
We're good don't worry about it. The weird things about different cultures is how something that would have been totally acceptable over here, would be terribly offensive over at your place.
I know I made a few terrible blunders in my time (and in person - not just on an internet board). I guess it's live and learn - and hopefully stay alive to tell the story
