They have a crapload of these at Walmart (I just purchased mine) along with the one with Ginobili.![]()
Well, Tim was on the cover midgame w/ Ben Wallace last week. I guess SI can't put him on the cover twice![]()

This is a different one than the one they have at Walmart...I don't think this copy is out in stores yet. It gets mailed before sent to stores. I believe.
I just purchased the Sports Illustrated DROB magazines from ebay.![]()
i'm looking into getting the nba.com deal so you get the dvd, t-shirt and hat and then odering the hardcover book from SI separately. more stuff, about the same price as going after the SI offer, i think. that's like $86 (not sure about taxes). i'm paying $77 for the nba.com stuff and the SI hardcover book is like $21.
it's the same one...I have it in my hand. It's the same one as the picture that was posted...the one w/Timmy and the one with Ginobili...they have both.
EDIT: Ok not in my hand...but it's next to me. :/
Oh okay...I didn't think they would have it yet.....COOl! Even better for my fellow Spurs fans!
*Does the Timmy Glare at ZStomp* I wouldn't make up stories.
I know.
Well, it looks as if I am going to call my brother in SA to get the good SI. I did not know that SI had alternative covers?![]()
I wonder if this is the first time a team in the big three US sports leagues wins a championship and doesn't get put on the national cover?
I really don't buy into the "no respect" thing. But this is just ing offensive. It's Sports ing Illustrated, and winning a tiltle doesn't get you the cover? What the is wrong with them?
Happened to Houston in 1994 too.I wonder if this is the first time a team in the big three US sports leagues wins a championship and doesn't get put on the national cover?
Out of curiosity, for those that have the SA version, is the article more than three pages long? Mine is three pages, but I wonder if they abridged it for the national version.
That is the same one hubby got for me.

I honestly thought it was the same version- everywhere![]()
In all fairness..there IS a whole SI Magazine dedicated to the Spurs...so what's the difference.
I couldn't care less.
What's the price for the SI Spurs Championship offer?
I went to pick up a Sports Illustrated at the grocery store today. They had two. One with Lance Armstrong on the cover and then one with the Spurs and the Pistons on the cover with a le like "Spurs and Pistons wrap it up" or something like that. I thought that wasn't much of a cover that should be dedicated to honoring the champions. Then I read through the article (or parts of it) and it wasn't even really about the Spurs, but rather about how uninteresting the finals were, and how badly ratings suffered, and what the NBA needed to do to ensure that people start watching again. I couldn't believe it! Does everything in sports these days have to be about money and ratings?! Naturally, I didn't buy the magazine. But that's what Sports Illustrated is selling here in Virginia today. Very dissapointed.

Yah, we have the same covers in Boston. That article was very dissapointing. Spurs/Pistons are boring, first 4 games are boring, Ducan is boring, same type of crap. Back handed compliments at bestAnd most of the article talked about how the ratings were low. I don't think that this article was even written after the Spurs won the playoffs. I think that it was written after game 5.
I bought into that too, probably will never read the damn thing i just wanted the other that comes with the package.
I read Ric Bucher on ESPN the magazine and Buster Olney for Baseball.
That picture of Jason Kidd in a Spurs uniform is creepy as .
I got my mag today, but had already read the content online.![]()
So I received the magazines from EBAY today. They are in prety good condition.
