...Cam ing Newton passed for more yards and had more overall TDs than Wilson. I'd say they were about even, and that was just a year ago.

Newton had less TD's, more INT's, a lower comp % and QB rating and didn't win any playoff games.

When we talk about rookies, we aren't going to find one who did more in his rookie season. If we look at the stats/games won.
I'm thinking most here don't really realize what we are seeing here with RW. His numbers were great, now add a playoff win. What rookie did more?

Slingin' Sammy had 8 td's and 14 INT's. Completed less than 48% of his passes.

Are we counting all TD's? If that's the case, you need to check your numbers again. I include rushing TDs, since that is a part of the game. Games won...including playoff games is about the whole team, not just the QB. The 2000 Baltimore Ravens didn't win the Super Bowl because of Trent Dilfer. Not saying he was better...saying they're about even. Cam threw for over 4000 yards and had more overall TDs.

    Let's break it down...

    Newton more rushing TD's
    Newton more yards passing
    RW better comp %
    RW threw for more tds
    RW less INTs
RW had a higher QB rating
    RW won a playoff game

    Not really all that close.

My song n' dance is what rookie had a better over all season? Yes winning a playoff game is a biggie. As is tying a rookie record for passing TD's. Who accomplished more, who was more succesful as a rookie taking everything into consideration?

When it mattered most RGIII crashed and burned. Andrew Luck simply makes too many mistakes. Who stayed upright and didn't lose the game for his team with turnovers?

    Check it out...

Bob Waterfield's rookie season in '45 had him lead the Rams to the le, was in the top 5 in a majority of passing categories, became the first rookie to win the MVP, and played other positions like defensive back were he was second in the league in picks with 6.

Yep, but old Bob threw more INT's than TD's and had a weak 72 as a QB rating.

Notice how we have to go wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back to find anyone close to what RW did?

Slingin' Sammy and Bob Waterfield both in the Hall of Fame.

Let's compare John Elways rookie season to RW's. Be back with the stats.

Nevermind, it's not even close, Big John had twice as many INT's as TD's, no need to go any further.

Anyone have a QB they want to compare with RW? How about Eli Manning? Be right back.

You gotta be kidding, a 55.4 QB rating...hahahaha!!!!!!!!

    Hmmmmm...Joe Montana?

Joe didn't start until his third year, then he threw for less TD's, more INT's, less comp % and a lower QB rating.

Come on people, damn~~~~~~ What rookie QB threw for more TD's/ had a higher QB rating/playoff success? Well?
