On the other hand that's what made the Spurs regular season champs in the last few seasons... who care we're 33-11 if we lose to all the best teams and won't get past OKC in the playoffs?

The reality is that the Spurs have some useless players right now (Blair, Neal), some dispensable ones (Green, Bonner) and some overpaid ones (Jackson, and even Manu to a lesser extent). The Spurs would be foolish not to try to improve. I'm not saying the OP has the answer (he doesn't ) but it's natural for posters to think on how the Spurs can improve, as I don't see us as championship caliber right now. As much as I like a fifth ring for TD and Pop this is a league where Kevin Durant gets 20 uncontested 15 footers night in night out. Everything has to go right for the Spurs to win a ring, a la 2007.
