if not, how can it credibly be maintained that further progress is made impossible by the mere existence of the Republican Party?
it's your position, then, that Obama's first term was distinguished by zero progressive accomplishments?

Posturing for Legacy Points.
Should've been called 12 things He aint gonna do about.
the only liberal part is where drones will have the "liberty" to shoot any "enemy" they please
"progressive liberal" era where you get molested everytime you go to the airport
It's the presidential equivalent of boutons claiming to have slapped someone....

Mindless consumers such as yourself are what the two-party system depends on, so if you really want change, you need to grow a spine and try some critical thinking for once in your life, B....

Progressive liberalism, as in, progress towards being more and more like Orwellian Oceania? Almost everything Obama said reeked of doublethink IMHO. Especially denying we are in a perpetual war with no end in sight, by saying the era of war over/within measurable distance of its end.
missed that part. can you point it out?
I see the part where Obama says 10 years of war is at an end. is that the part you mean?
newspeak is the Orwellian term.
Marijuana Arrests Now Exceed Arrests For Violent Crime

War on Drugs is a racist business for the PIC.
don't count on Obama to wind it down, is all I'm sayin. Has he done it so far?
results, according to the graph, aren't overwhelming
international pressure tbh. everyone is obsessed with US policies and therefore wants us to be more social such as contemporary Europe. i read a study that polled who internationals would vote for in the presidential election of 2008, and it was something like 85% overwhelmingly would vote Obama.
from my viewpoint in meeting people overseas, "republican" is synonymous with "backward."
Foreigners have a much more accurate take on USA than Human-Americans sheeple dumbed down by TV, bad food, and corporate/political propaganda.
Is calling George Bush a liberal the new Republican strategy?
Americans Overwhelmingly Want Feds to Let States Move Forward With Marijuana Legalization
Regular Americans overwhelmingly see marijuana legalization as a states’ rights issue and do not want the federal government to interfere with the will of the electorate in either state.
A new Reason-Rupe Public Opinion poll found a majority of Americans do not want federal resources used to inhibit any aspects of the new legal marijuana system in these two states. The poll found 72 percent don’t want the federal government to arrest
people for using marijuana in these states, while only 24 percent want federal law enforcement deployment.
Similarly, the poll found 68 percent don’t want the feds arresting people for growing marijuana and 64 percent don’t even want the feds to arrest people for selling marijuana. As long as individual are following state law they should be left alone.
