Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people 'think' your stupid than open it and remove all doubt.

I didn't think the spurs scrimmaged in the regular season. So he'll have to outshoot Bonner at uncontested 3's in order to crack the rotation. Good luck with that, Aaron.
They'll have plenty of time to practice next week, i believe.

baynes would be like any new player that joins the team, has to earn them minutes and work their way up the roster rotations....

it shouldnt be hard to beat blair, bonner up the rotations

Or he'll have to out eat Dejuan at the dinner table. That's how Diaw earned his spot originally.

Ya thats how Eddy Curry got on the team to.

He may not have gotten any minutes yet... but he has gotten sloppy seconds.

Probably trying to schedule a ticket back to monrovia or wherever they found this scrub is hard lol
Do you even know where Monrovia is at? It's not a very nice place. But seriously, pull the history. It's a trippy story when you read about the origins or Monrovia and the country of Liberia as a whole.

Look at it from the coach's perspective: In order to to have player's respect, a coach has to not be a hypocrite (he can't bend the rules for his favorite players, etc.). Most coaches probably want a player to learn the system, to follow their instructions, and to work hard/give a lot of effort. It's safe to say that both Bonner and Blair have done this (or at least have tried to).

If the Spurs' coaches were to play Baynes, a player fresh off the boat who hasn't been to a practice yet, over Bonner and Blair, 2 guys who have been Spurs for years and probably haven't missed too many practices, what kind of message are you sending to the team? Why work hard at all if they aren't even going to get minutes over an unproven/untested player from a far-away league?

From a fan's perspective though, it makes sense to want to see if Baynes is better than Blair and Bonner since, like you said, we kind of know that they won't be playing later.

From a Coaches Perspetive: MINUTES ARE EARNED, NOT GIVEN, but blair and bonner have been lacking so I say through the big Aussie in there.

You cannot throw the guy out there without knowing anything about the system. This isn't baseball.

Yeah, i understand he is going to have issues. But like i said my main point is we bring him over, Duncan is out, we play bonner and blair in these games when they are going to be out when duncan is back. Why play them if we plan on still playing baynes when duncan returns?
    Think D league

I don't. If we got Dwight Howard the day before a game are you saying we shouldn't play him because he had no practices? If so I believe most coaches would disagree with you. If you're good you should play. It's that simple.

Did you just compare Dwight Howard to Aron Baynes? Or did you merely fail to read the post that you quoted?

I think you need to pump the brakes on the expectations brah. If Baynes can just give the Spurs a solid 10 minutes per game off the bench it would be a success of a signing this season.

Fans need to give him time. Look at Splitter. He took about 2 season to figure it out.

I figure if Pop mentions training camp when talking about Baynes he's shut down for the season.
