In certain situations perhaps. The moments where they need iso scoring, but Gay overall was pretty inefficient and it shouldn't be too big of a deal net-wise as they probably improve defensively some too.
I though Memphis was offensively-challenged...won't this set them back in the short term?

huge pet peeve of mine as well...that tends to happen when trying to use phrases you previously heard for the first time
I understand that, but for a team that isn't particularly adept at the offensive end, won't losing one of their only scorers hurt their chances in the 2013 playoffs--where the game slows down and points are harder to come by?
Well they had their best playoff run without Gay so I don't know how much that hurts them. All that matters is net gain. Their defense should be even better which means they won't need as many points. Gay wasn't exactly scoring a ton or efficiently either..
you know what I hate when people say "of"instead of "have"
Memphis scoring <80 points in a playoff game is going to be hilarious.
imma let this do all the talking:

what's hilarious is that you say black women come on to you the most because "they" are low value and easy to get......lol - say cuz what does that make you ;-)
Don't recall this many trades happening before the deadline.
They traded Ed Davis ???????????????????????????????
Colangelo![]()
Kind of sad for Prince. Dude was with The Pistons since forever and was extremely adapted and in integrated in Detroit community. It's a business but still, a lot of Detroiters are gonna miss him tbh. He used to lunch in some low profile coney restaurants around Auburn Hills, he is a really nice guy.
One of my favorite fan-shot game moments. The only ones I like better are the ones of the McDyess tip in in Los Angeles a couple of seasons ago.
I didn't find it that funny when MEM bounced the Spurs as an 8th said with no Gay tbh..
at all of these teams.
at Toronto desperate for a "star" and go for Rudy Gay
at Memphis for ever being called a contender even before this move
at the Pistons thinking capspace will net them a big name. Big markets get the big names. No one wants to go to that hole city.
So all in all, this was an average move that either kept the same teams average or made the ty teams a tad less tier.
NBA
Another Colangelo classic. Detroit gets a ball distributor and an expiring contract and Memphis sheds salary and gets a decent improving young player. Toronto meanwhile is on the books for $18 million for a chucker that barely shoots 40%, can't rebound or defend. A black mini-Bargnani.
Colangelo
so true
there've been so many rumor threads around the board that when the trade actually takes place, we'll habitually take it as a rumor as well.
This thread is just another example of how the average nba fan is clueless.
Toronto got raped. Memphis got the best player in the deal (Davis) while also getting rid of Gay's awful, awful contract.
I like Ed Davis and I've been hyping him for a while, but he isn't the best player in the deal..
It's still a terrible deal, despite Gay being the best player in the deal(I'm aware Gay has had a poor season btw)..as I explained earlier, this is a deal that will ensure Colangelo keeps his job by fooling the ty Raptors ownership and hockey media..
uhh... pretty sure everyone in this thread is agreeing TO got raped lol
Rudy Gay being on the books for $53 million automatically makes him the worst player in this deal.
