I was actually giving him a lot of credit in the game thread, I was impressed..however, nearing the end of the game, Timmy2Zo sent me a PM(true story) telling me that Kap was going to choke once he's forced to win a game from the pocket..he was correct, as usual, and if he says that DCs will adjust next year, I believe him, tbh..

I'll ignore the impact of the power outage on Kaepernick's 2nd half performance..

"SF has the most stacked roster"

others chime in "no they don't Seattle is just as good if not better and thats just in their division"

    "Oh yea, you're right"

Gotta agree with Harlem here...Kaep impressed me a lot (after a closet Niners fan killed the power grid), but he has a lot to work on b/c NFL coordinators only need a little under a year of game film to figure out all your tendencies. Kaep is exceptionally mobile, but his footwork is absolutely atrocious in the pocket. His big arm bails him out of a lot of telegraphed passes too, b/c of the zip on the ball.
The is young and should improve, he never touched a centers balls in college. It'll be interesting to see what he does next year. Does he work on his game and take the next step or hit a wall like many before him?

Best roster in the NFL getting blown out, only to have a power outage help them but still lose

Most stacked roster not even in their division

Kap will not be the issue so long as San Fran is providing him with an elite O-line, an elite receiver, and the best tight end in the NFL. If San Fran actually has to deal with real injuries next year, that's when Kap would run into problems.

Yep... we're ing stacked. and Kap will be a top 10 QB next year, if he isn't already.

Kap doesn't have to apologize because he's not as good as Aaron Rodgers.

I hope we can get something good for Alex Smith. he Can start on 10 or so teams in the league right now. and can turn some bad teams into fringe playoff contnders.

Alex Smith wasn't trusted to play caretaker on a stacked team, but somehow that makes him qualified to turn ty teams into contenders. Another solid take

I actually agree with you. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jags made a run at Alex Smith. Alex Would actually be a perfect fit in Jville. Two up and coming WR's and MJD at RB. Not to mention he would have to compete with anyone for the starting job or face his old team twice a year unlike in Arizona.

Enough tape on Kap for Ds to on the Pistol offense he'll be figured out just like Cam was this year. The Ravens D got em rattled and they only had 2 weeks

Jets would be a fringe playoff contender with Alex Smith.

They were 6-10 this year with putrid QB play despite a decent OLine

Not inconceivable Smith would make them a 9-7 or 10-6 team

Same w/ the Dolphins and Chargers. Smith > Rivers at this point.

As for other teams it would just be an upgrade. Cardinals would still suck due to their OLine, but surely wouldn't be as atrocious on offense.

If people were paying attention they'd realize that the 49ers secondary has been nothing but embarrassing in all 5 playoff games since Harbaugh took over. Just an overrated, horrible unit (not the whole D, just the secondary) that does nothing but make big hits.

funny how goldson and whitner were both pro bowlers.

in any event, last year the niners failed to make the superbowl due to smith's inability to convert a 3rd down. trabtree's name was never called until kaepernick stepped in.

but yeah, someone will overpay for alex smith but they will undoubtedly regret it.

Alex Smith is a system QB, tbh..he was completely irrelevant prior to Harbaugh's arrival IIRC..

He can't make big plays, he can't play under pressure(the Saints historically bad defense doesn't count), he doesn't possess any special qualities that would make him an upgrade over most starting QBs, tbh..

He could help teams like the Jets and Jags, but only because their current QBs are atrocious..
