Yeah FYI, posting Youtubes that get 250 views isn't "speaking on the news".
    That's odd. I wasn't talking about YouTubes.

For whatever reason, there was this complete blow off class I took senior year of high school with a lot of people I knew but for whatever reason I got ridiculously nervous in that class everytime I had to get up and speak. Whereas, if I'm in a quieter more serious class I have a lot easier time doing it.

If it's for a class, handout pictures or info on your particular speech before you speak--whatever takes people's attention away from you will make it easier

I've been practicing since I graduated college about 9 years ago. Now I don't get nervous and my delivery is pretty polished. Toastmasters is pretty awesome and it's helped continue to improve my public speaking, which is important for my job. Not only do you get a lot of practice, but you get critiqued by people each time you speak. I would recommend it to anybody trying to improve their public speaking.

    Toastmasters is a great suggestion.

Won't work if you have severe social public speaking anxiety. Most people have some anxiety from public speaking if you don't do it enough. You need the beta blockers and hopefully they work enough that you don't look foolish up there. Like BUMP said check with the school counseling center or doctor to get a prescription for the beta blockers..

Being good at public speaking is a powerful tool. Most people in management positions are relaxed doing it and if you can't it will limit your chances for success. It shows confidence in yourself if you are a powerful public speaker because many people can't do it well.
