I wonder what deserving candidate Stern will get to replace Duncan in the all-star game. Surely Pop isn't ignorant enough to hold Duncan out of regular season games and then give him minutes in an overvalued glorified scrimmage. Apparently, Duncan needs his rest and should probably avoid gallivanting around the Toyota center on a bum knee.

I don't even know why Manu went on the road trip with the team anyways. I knew he was going to be out at least until after the AS break sometime.

holding out ginobili and duncan means parker has to play harder than usual. role players really need to step up or parker will be in trouble himself.
The only people I expect to step up are Kawhi and Danny(3pt shot been good as of late, hopefully he keeps it that way).

I'm not sure what's going on with Manu and his hamstring but I'm not sure why anyone wants to rush TD back. If he has one shred of doubt about not being completely healthy then he needs to sit.

Health is number one, no doubt. However, when Pop pisses away 5-6 games a year, it can come back to haunt us. Spurs had a real good shot at returning to the finals in 08, Pop nanchalanted the regular season, SA finished one game from the best record and ended up the third seed. The path they took was much more difficult than LA's...including a talented new Orleans team that went seven culminating with spending all night on the tarmac. I think they ran out of juice against LA, especially in the all important first game when they couldn't hold the big lead.

This year I would like to see at least one of the top three seeds eliminated before what we hope to be the WCF's. Getting the one seed greatly improves the Spurs chances no doubt. These games may seem inconsequential now, but if we end the season one or two games out and have to go through LA (or Denver), AND OKC... The odds go down...

Why even take Tim and Manu on the road trip if you have no intent to play them? Just let em rehab at home and spend time with their families then. Pop is being a stubborn ass as always.

Agree or disagree: Spurs can't beat OKC in the Finals without home court advantage.
Spurs need EVERY possible advantage to beat the Thunderefs.

This is complete bull . I hate when teams lie their asses off about injuries. Manu supposedly just felt a little tightness the last time he played but "did not re-injure" the hamstring. Now he's been out like three games (missed four last time) and looks like he'll miss more with this "non-injury" than the original one. I know hamstrings are stubborn and really easy to re-injure, but just say he re-strained it already.

As for Duncan, I guess it makes more sense to be cautious, but I don't understand why Parker said on his radio show that Manu would miss the first game of the road trip and Duncan only two when it appears both will miss like 5.

You are rooting for the wrong team then.
