Which always makes me wonder why they didn't put Lebron on Parker that series.
Guess Mike Smith was doing us a solid.
They did put Lebron on Parker !

His statistics in the first half of game 6 were epic, but we all know what happen the second half.
Yes, OKC Scored 59 points !!! You can't win a championship when you let the opposite team score 59 points in the 2nd half !

He also had TD to bail him out. Whenever TD can't bail him is when he struggles.
Parker and Manu drove the Spurs in that series. By leading the fastbreak (often 1-3) he forced Phoenix to adjust Marion on Parker instead of Duncan who would have had to guard the 3pt line on defense. Instead he got Amare and abused him .

The Dallas series in 09' when Parker scored 29.5 a game in the 5 game series while Duncan posted a respectable 19pts per game. I think I poked holes in that logic.

We had the 11th best defense last season 3rd this season. Thats obviously different. +Kawhi, Splitter & Green all have played much larger roles this season as opposed to last season. Duncan is having a career year defensively so are legit. imo.

He might be neutralized by his own ankle this year, tbh.

The issue is the spacing (or lack there of) in the playoffs. When Bonner and last year Diaw became ineffective as long ball threats, it helped the opposing team focus on TP's kick and drives. Couldn't do that in the Horry days.

Lost that series 1-4 though which is what's important (though tbf Manu was out for the season).

The funny thing is Parker doesn't get credit when he carry the team to a 10-0 playoffs run (or play a big role in at least one le). "It was only utah", "Paul was injured", "Daniel Gibson?"

But if we lose... It is all his fault

He usually is neutralised by falling in love with his midrange game.

I know but the point i'm going for is that he out played Duncan and carried the Spurs in the playoffs. We had no chance in that series without Manu. But his play gave us a chance to do something.

Diaw doesn't really compare to Horry and Bonner as stretch 4's. Bonner & Horry almost shot exclusively behind the arc while Diaw picks his spots and takes high percentage looks from behind the arc. He only takes like 1 .3 per game but hits them at at 47% clip (as a spur dating back to last season) he is much more of an player than a specialist. Diaw can also attack the rim off the dribble and is a better passer than both. I think that he could have a big impact on the Spurs playoff success as a floor spacer .imo.

TP's best individual playoff series by far but he just didn't have the stamina to close the games.

True. When you score 32 in the first half in like 21 minutes you can't really blame him for being that tired.
