Based on Bruno's feedback on him, I would be shocked to see him last that long. He's got to go much, much earlier.
Draft Net has us taking him in the second round #59

If we used a 1st on Mam, would we stash him for 3 years then sign him or is he ready for a shot at C at his young age? I would think the stash route would be the way to go so then he gets the playing time he needs to really develop.
I'm reading a lot of great stuff on him. I think a lot of teams hate doing the stash bit with a first rounder, so that should work to our advantag if he is who we want. I can see where a lot of teams would be hesitant to draft a 6'9" C who's only 18 yo. If we can grab him, I think we'd be set at the C for a while with Splitter and Baynes anchoring the present and Mam being the future.

^ Jaiteh was interviewed by TP on his french radio show a couple of weeks ago and he said that, while he was fine with staying another year in France, he wouldn't take the same road as Splitter or Ginobili and stay years overseas. A draft and stash agreement for one year could work but in that case, Jaiteh best interest might just be to wait for the 2014 NBA draft and bet he would be drafted higher than #29.
Jaiteh also said that players he was watching on tape to get better were Aldridge and Duncan. While he is playing C in an undersized league, his future could be more at the PF slot at the NBA level.
Kinda strange...DX has him not even making it to the Spurs in the first round. I don't think NBADraft has done very much homework on him or they wouldn't have ranked him so low. If he makes it out of the first he won't make it out of the first few picks in the second.
I don't know they have Giannis Adetokuoubo going to Atlanta at 18 so they are looking but who knows what going to happen.
DraftExpress: Will be interesting to see how Mouhammadou Jaiteh does as he's "100% entering the 2013 draft" according to his agent and "90% staying in."
Draft Express has him at 26 and Draftnet doesn't have at all.
The big knock on Jaiteh is that he put great stats in a crappy league but he struggled against better players. This year he just got dominated when opposed to players like Rudy Gobert or Alexis Ajinça.
If he hasn't a good Hoop Summit, he might be in play for Spurs first round pick.
And that's what happened...
I would be all for Spurs guaranteeing their first round pick to him in June especially if he is fine with being stashed one year in France.
Does he have the skills to be an NBA power-forward? With the way the league is trending now, the idea of having two centers in at the same time is becoming less desirable.
Here comes my dream...
If he could be picked by the Spurs at the end of the first round and then stashed in Limoges for a year, I'd be fantastic !
DX has dropped him into the early second round in their latest mock. He was up somewhere around 20 before the NHS.
He's 18, and raw as . You won't ever have to worry about he and Tim playing together, because by the time he's ready, Tim will be gone.
Sure, but Splitter will still be there. And Baynes may as well.
It'd be a great problem to have... for a change :-).
That's not a given. IIRC, Baynes is also under contract only for next year. Kid could also be the backup while he develops.
You don't draft or not draft someone based on a log jam at a position. , Portland had like 3 starting quality SFs for about 5 years in a row.
I guess I should clarify. I am not questioning Jaiteh's draftability. I am asking about his skills because Bruno mentioned that Jaiteh may end up as an NBA four. I am wondering if he truly has the skills to play there (I haven't seen him at all, so I really don't know), because I don't like the idea of pretending a center is a power-forward and starting two stiffs like the Spurs are doing now. So I don't mind Jaiteh as a center prospect, but I'd have reservations about classifying him as a four if he doesn't have a good mid-range game and above-average mobility.
his nickname should be "La Jetee"
That would be sweet.
The weaknesses are not minor for a big in the NBA, he doesnt block shots, partially because he doesn't jump much nor does hi contest many shots. Bad jump shot also. After watching the video it looked like a Tiago 2.0.
He is still 18, and like it says in the video, he may be picking up bad habits in that low intensity league. Questionable motor is never good.
Looking at many of the recent mocks this guys is being rated as second round material. Any explanation for the recent dip?
He had a rotten Nike World Hoop Summit.
ya he lookd avg... mahinmi any1?
