her medical clinics wouldn't even give painkillers to terminally ill patients because she said extreme pain brought one closer to Christ.

She also supported Charles Keating and couldn't account for the money he donated to her which was originally stolen from people who's lives were ruined by Keating
She lived in poverty. She's not an accountant but all here free hospitals for the poor were ran by nuns who also lived in poverty. When she won the nobel peace prize she donated all her prize money to the poor. She was the only person to treat certain people like lepers. You are also mistrepresenting. She gave people pain killers. But was quoted to that when someone was becoming addicted to morphine. Without those free hospitals, those people would have died on the streets.
being against poverty but supporting someone who commits fraud and steals money from poor people
She wasn't against poverty. She spent most of her life helping people who were poor.

She ran a clinic that she wouldn't use herself and opposed divorce. If you know anything about Indian culture, you should know why that would be an issue.

She opened a lot of convents and proselytized well though.

I don't think she is evil but she is no more a saint than Pat Robertson.
If you knew anything about Indian culture, you would know the class issue if you are on the bottom. She dedicated her life to helping the ones who no one would even talk to.

She didn't help social mobility. She created a clinic in Calcutta that she wouldn't even use and discouraged divorce and abortion both of which diminish social stratification. Other than that she built convents and proselytized.

She created many mobile clinics, a leper colony, an orphanage, a nursing home and the clinic you have pointed out. She started missionaries of charity. And yes she was against divorce and abortion. No . A catholic is against abortion. How dare she!! Pretty pathetic to try and discredit her with that kind of nonsense. If you are stating that the country of India in particular is not better off having her there, than you are probably the best troll I've dealt with.

    missionaries of charity.

Her 'mission' was proselytizing. Authoritarian Christianity has never helped social mobility pretty much anywhere. South America is proof of that. It actually has the opposite effect. I can get the disdain for beatification.

Yeah because unalienable rights came from the atheist nothingness.
because American Exceptionalism came from the atheist work ethic.

wanting to marginalize all good from the Catholic Church by attacking Mother Teresa. I imagine when you tell someone that in person, what their look on their face is.

We're a secular state. What sets us apart from most countries in the world is how much we adhere to it. I do think religious driven anti-intellectualism in the last 30 years has done more than a little damage to our 'exceptionalism.'

And sorry but the dark and middle ages speak for themselves. Europe didn't surpass eastern culture until after the reformation. From a historical basis, theocracy hasn't helped much.

I may make a few more enemies than i have already but I honestly feel the hard working Catholics that claim they are against this man on boy should all leave the church and see who is left. then after you weed out all the diehard Catholics start a new Catholic religion with all new priests that can have wives and go back to what Catholics are known for, sinning confessing, and sinning again. at least this time you don't have to put up with the child abuse smack.

The truth is the reason the Catholics don't leave the church is because it was never about doing what the bible preaches its always been about being able to have fun in life and get away with as long as you say it a few 100 hail Marys once a week.

If you believed in Enron and found out later your 401K is and you was scammed would you keep buying stock? I wouldn't need to be told year after year how i'm being ed in the ass.

Why would you buy hamburger meat from Albertsons after they admitted year after year its 50% human flesh? How many times do you go to the same mechanic after you find out he never put the parts he charged you for in your car?

How many times would you go to the same doctor that admits he never went to medical school?

Well the Catholics can be told over and over their religion was a lie, their all going to and the pope admitted to having sex with 1000 6 year old boys while the bishops all video taped it as they drank blood from dead people's assholes and it wouldn't mean . After all how many of you see a line of Catholics waiting outside Cornerstone church every Sunday.

The only thing more loyal than a misguided Catholic is a clueless Republican.

so in closing I'm not here to bash religion or Catholics just stupidity.

Every religion and every religious group are no different than the catholic group. All the same.
Change a rule or two in each group and the lines would blur.

    Then again...

People NOT in any religious group are no better either - just different choices - but no better/no worse.
