He is good at pressing. Not so good at handling screens. He is a terrible off the ball defender. He loses his man consistently . It's why he gives up so many 3's.
He's good for full court press, but after they get into half court, it would be handy if they could quickly sub like in hockey...

Mills is a streaky shooter. He's either hot, or ice cold. An when you're only 6'0, not very athletic, and can't play defense, you better bring something consistent to the table. He doesn't. Spurs will let him walk after his contract's up. At least with CoJo you get some solid defense.

unfortunately we have the usual chicken little response to play analysis, that is a very short term, context-less view or simply a sad cry for attention from the trolls. Patty can provide quality spark and offense. I can understand fully his sagging off on a pick as the help coverage in SA is almost universally poor. Indeed diaw/blair/bonner are almost comically bad. Yes he is more offensively focused, but then that has always been his role. No player can develop without playing time and that has been all over the place. His role will depend upon the opposition as will all second string players on any team.

Some nice takes. It's a shame so many posters say so much without watching the games.

Thanks. There is a difference between a fan of a team and a fan of basketball. I am perhaps the latter as I love the way the Spurs play and their at ude to the team and to the little things that matter. They achieve and have consistently achieved higher than the names on the roster would suggest given media hype.
