Any Christian group in the United States that does not support same sex marriage is called a hate group by the SPLC. Muslim groups that don't support same sex marriage (all of them) aren't classified as hate groups..

SPLC labels certain organizations as anti-gay hate groups if they are violent or take specific actions to defame sexuality. Simply not supporting same sex marriage isn't enough to get anyone on the list.

Infact, toodling around the map seeing what they actually consider to be a "hate group" the vast majority tend to be neo-nazi types.

Still further, the group that are listed as being purely "anti-gay" are the kinds that have advocated physical violence.

The criteria is not "Any christian group that is anti gay marriage".

I would guess the criteria is any group that advocates some form of violence.
