Cool - but if you thought that then why did you say that lol? Just didn't think that through?
I still think they will just don't want to put money on it. Especially when I'm not getting any odds for calling a series sweep.

You willing to bet on everything you think is going to happen?

Best case Spurs in 4. Worst case Spurs in 6. Assuming health is ok. Book it.

Cool well the OKC thing is still on - we will just use paypal. Definitely think SA and OKC would win (definitely OKC) but Kobe is usually good for 1 game at least. Pau is playing better, Dwight too. Their bench is inconsistent but have stepped up (Jamison, Clark,...).

I would hate for the Spurs to draw LA - terrible match up IMO. Spurs should win, but there is a big enough chance of an upset there IMO.

I've been watching LA of late and I'm just not impressed. I think they are using so much energy right now and if they get in, they are going to be spent.

Lakers are an 8 seed in the sense that Memphis was two years ago.

Yup. A ton of talent and they dealt with a lot of injuries. Sure, they didn't play to expectations, but they did deal with a ton of injuries to key guys.

Another thing I disagree with. Memphis was a very cohesive bunch with great chemistry and defense. Every player knew there role and they actually tanked to fall down to 8. They also won something like 47 or 48 games that year if I remember correctly.

I am just hoping and praying LA doesn't make the playoffs. One, it would be hilarious, but two, just don't want to deal with them.

Memphis was pure defense that year, they had some great perimeter defenders and played selfless plus Zach Randolph was having a monster season that year

Are we really comparing this Laker squad to the 2011 Grizzlies?

Granted, I'm not underrating LA at all, but I also think you are overrating them just a bit.

Don't get me wrong. I much rather play the Jazz just to avoid all the hoopla that surrounds playing LA but I'm really not sure LA would be a tougher draw than Houston.

If Pop goes with midget ball (Blair / bonner), they will give of fits on the boards. And a big part of playoffs is rebounds.

The Spurs can prevent the Lakers from making the playoffs if Pop actually chooses to play his players against the Lakers.

Maybe Magic and Jalen were onto something. This looks like a classic tank job by Pop tonight.

Spurs fans are wayyyyyyy overconfident IMO. Spurs have a lot of issues right now. Serious issues. So do other teams naturally, but Spurs as of this point in time are a major crap shoot and not guaranteed to beat anyone outside of UTA/GS/HOU/DEN IMO. OKC/MEM/LAC/LAL IMO could all be dangerous.
so Denver(#3 team) is a gimme, but LAL would be dangerous?

Not gonna lie, it's hard to not take any other team in the west playoffs over the Spurs right now besides maybe the Jazz.

We're super hurt and the playoffs are right around the corner. We've choked away so many games and barely been playing .500 ball lately. Pretty much only games we've won lately were games when Duncan had his cape on.

If Parker and Manu are both out, we aren't beating anyone. That said, if Spurs were actually healthy, the Lakers will be made to look like total cuckholds in the first round.

Magic Johnson hasn't watched 1 full Spurs game all year. It's quite obvious. He is talking out of his ass.
Have you watched a Spurs game in the last 2 months?

pop was probably thinking the same exact thing..

    i mean, blair on mcgee...

basically, the spurs are going to be wobbling into the playoffs. pop would much rather play a young rockets/warriors team with no experience than the lakers. pop is a chicken . probably gonna cost us another le with that weak loser mentality.

The Spurs don't want the number 1 seed and the possibility of meeting the lakers. They are as afraid as their fans of meeting the lakers in the first round.

I don't think Magic's wrong. This team is a mess right now, and unless I see big changes in the remainder of the regular season (like everyone back and playing well), then I don't think the Spurs beat the Lakers or Houston.

In every way things can be bad, they're getting there. Manu being busted up and not even performing well when he was healthy. A banged up Parker who looked bad the last time he played. Disappointing Diaw now possibly out several first round games . . . even if he was playing, he's been a disappointment for me this year anyway. Stephen Jackson hobbling around . . . and playing like garbage when on the court.

Then the guys who are suiting up are playing poorly outside of Duncan and Leonard down the stretch. Splitter in a serious funk, extremely disappointing to me. Green beginning his late season swoon. Neal being awful most of the time. De Colo and Joseph having unremarkable outings, making zero positive difference. Mills being a worse option than the other two. The Turd Towers doing what they do, bad defense and choked bricks.

And of course Pop, who as much as I love him, has proven to be able to lose any playoff series despite having the better team or losing a series when having the upper hand and a 2-0 lead with homecourt advantage. And just the kind of infuriating stubborness to trot the Turd Towers out against the Lakers to be destroyed until the Spurs are on the brink before he decides Baynes might be worth trying at center over Blair to buy the starters some rest on the bench.

This team is ripe to be wrecked in the first round. I just hope Parker and Ginobili are able to come back and save this team from another first round upset.
