The best part was listening to Stockton try to say the winner of the series will play the winner of the Spurs Lakers series. He knew it was wrong but he just kind of went with it.

The previews on SI.com had both the Spurs/Lakers and Thunder/Rockets series as 1 vs 8, and the Warriors/Nuggets and Clippers/Grizzlies series were both listed as 4 vs 5.
It's not about Journalism and Truth (which usually don't make good bedfellows)
It's just that i find all these "Stern is ploting against the Spurs" or 'BSPN is ting on the Spurs" theories a bit lame on Spurstalk
The Spurs are not the sexiest or the most popular but outside of the 29 other NBA teams, nobody's trying to bring them down

I saw it live and yeah the Spurs got robbed in that game. So what? That was poor referring and poor referring only. happens. Sometimes the calls go our way (no one remember it of course), sometimes not. That's life.
Of course Stern likes it when the Lakers, the Heat, the Knicks or the Bulls are playing the Finals. He's a business man after all and the big markets bring money to the league.
Now if he wanted so badly those big markets to dominate the game year in and year out then why has he instaured the salary cap? and the Draft? Why not copying the UEFA Champions league system so it's always the big/rich teams in the latest stages of the compe ion?
