Why do I meet so many people in our field that want to go back to school for something else?
business development for an oil company
ha, so very true. although i dont actually design. i have a BA in art history and architecture. so i just enjoy art.
it's nice to go back for grad school to get back in the college scene for a year or two, but it's never that much fun to come home at the end of the day and still have to do for tomorrow.
If I hadn't got my degree in design, I was going to get it in art history and I've considered going back for a masters in art history. Then I come to my senses when I realize how much work will be involved.
if i didnt like the idea of being tied down for 3 or 4 years full-time i'd seriously consider going back to get a professional master's in architecture. but one master's degree is enough for me.
yep. i've, obviously, thought about getting my masters in art history. but even then you're still pretty limited. unless, of course, you want to be a curator (which i don't).

Really? Being a curator sounds fascinating to me. I've always been interested in exhibition design. What are the pitfalls of being a curator?

i think it is fascinating too, but i dont think it is me. i dont know why. i dont think there are very many pitfalls. you get to travel, research what you want, write, and organize exhibitions. very compe ive though.
right now i am leaning more towards arts education. ha, put two of the lowest paying fields together.
exhibition design can be pretty neat. we have alot of exhibitions, so i get to see alot of them being designed in the first stages. pretty interesting.
I work at RiteAid. First they made me just stock stuff. Now, I do the pictures and that takes mostly all my shift usually but, sometimes inbetween processes I might have to stock some stuff or just work around some various jobs. It's not that bad and the co-workers are cool except the Asst. Manager can be a sometimes. The pay isn't that bad judging I work only 4 days a week but, I'm gonna have to switch back to 2 days a week once school starts.
