I understand the ads, I don't get that flash is getting progressively worse in general and on YouTube in particular.
Or posting an irrelevant YouTube.
I don't think flash is the problem. The site just seems overloaded and extremely slow in peak hours lately. I get lousy speeds downloading the video files directly and not just watching through their flash viewer.
Well, flash sucks everywhere now - you could be right about peak use on YouTube itself, but the buffering issue happens all the time to me.
So what would you like for me to do slick, I'm here to make you happy.

Youtube ads don't bother me to much. You can skip some after 5 seconds, and the others last only 15. I'll take that for the free service you are getting. The whole subscription thing worries me. At the start it is only supposed to be a couple of big channels like The Onion and WWE. If they allow anyone to move to that down the road, I can see it killing Youtube. Nothing is more annoying that constantly running into content on a site that is behind a paywall.

I like youtube because you can see a lot of things you'd be hard pressed to find without it. You want to relive some game/fight/movie/tv show, bingo, there it is. Tons of things you've forgotten youtube reminds you of because while looking for something else there it is.

if you watch a long video like a 2-hour long movie, then it's well worth 15-30 secs of waiting imho
The new update to Flash Player on Firefox fixes the problem of videos playing. If you are tired of videos actually working, definitely download and install the update.

They're already talking about competing with Netflix.
I saw this on CNN yesterday. They want to start at a pricing right around 2 bucks.
Depending on what they offer, I may even subscribe but they would have to put something very, very intriguing. Basically unique to them because they cant compete with the likes of Netflix, Hulu and even Amazon Instant.
The $2 monthly subscription would be per channel. If they could get content like HBO, NBA TV, etc I would be tempted to subscribe to a few. No way I'm paying for the content already available on Youtube. If amateur content gets put behind a firewall, I have little doubt Youtube will go down the drain and compe ors will copy their old model and replace them.
the ads ain't the most boring part imho. there ain't many quality vids on youtube these days and you have every reason to feel irritated when you wait for 30 secs something only to see some re ed s masturbating to themselves. it wouldnt bother me to wait 3 minutes for each vid if every one is guaranteed to be as good as ghazi-tube tbh
Youtube has had movies and TV shows behind paywalls for a while now.
