Tiago finally stepped it up the way the Spurs needed him to tonight. Him switching onto Conley and contesting that last second shot at the end of regulation was huuuge.

Tiago's defense is extremely underrated. This dude is shifty and knows the other team's offense really well. His instincts are one of the best I've seen on defense in terms of tracking the ball and tracking the movement of the other team's 5.

    I've always been a pretty big Tiago-homer.

I remember when we were all so infuriated last year when Pop would NOT let him and Timmy play together at all. We were completely besides ourselves. It made complete sense to all of us--why didn't Pop get it?

Well... things are different now. It is truly a beautiful thing to watch Tiago progressing on the court alongside Timmy indeed. At last.

I wish Pop would have played them together from day 1 in '10-'11. We might have had another ring or two.

Why don't you tell us how bad Tim Duncan is?

As far as I'm concerned, if he can finish out the playoffs like tonight, he'll have earned it.

He really played a solid role for the Spurs to take a commanding 3-0 lead, with his post and P&R defense. However, at his weak hookshot. Neverthelesss, hoping that he's still part of the team next year.

That fluke hook shot in the OT at the shot clock buzzer
Did you get a look at his face during the replay? He had a smile on his face while he was shooting it like Bobby Boucher in the Waterboy...priceless.

Anyone have a pic of it?

Boozer and Al Jefferson make 15M apiece. M Gasol, Hibbert, Brook Lopez, Chandler and Kevin Love make about 14M each. Horford makes 12M. Ibaka will make 12M from next year. Noah makes 11M.

Based on that, Splitter is worth probably up to 10M.

That would be the ideal price tbh. However, he will likely get a better offer from a crappy team with money to throw around. Hope he follows the Big 3 philosophy of staying with this franchise for less money.

Nothing different than he's done all playoffs except that he hit a couple of baskets. Hard not to when the Grizzlies throw everything at trying to stop the three pointers.

Back-loaded, "poison pill" contract that made it difficult for the Bulls to match. Same type that Jeremy Lin got

Tiago "The Brazilian Cobra" Splitter!!..........um are there cobras in Brazil? I just thought he needed a ferocious snake nickname like Bonner.

What happens if someone gives the Splitter a poison pill contract? Maybe that's what the Trailblazers should have done to get Hibbert.

, I had to miss the game where Splitter manned up and hit 5-5. I hope he can continue his streak of scoring in double digits on Monday.

ive been telling some of you who think he can be had for $7m that go for much more. McGee and DeAndre Jordan go for $10.5m and $10.75m and after all the gms see the importance of a big man this playoffs in ind mem and sas, get his money

Great game, but I'm not going to be a believer till I see this consistently. He tends to play soft/tentative every so often
This. He disappears for long stretches. He would be the kind of signing that could get a GM fired if you're expecting an alpha big man.

Your cap has to be set up the right way to be able to drop a salary bomb that last year. Not many teams have that.
