NBA: Joey Crawford...great ref or greatest ref?

We shouldn't even know the refs names. There's no such as a great ref. They should be pretty much invisible.

Agreed, but sadly, it seems every league has a few garbage refs who are intent on making everyone know their names.... Joey Crawford, Bavetta, Ed Hochuli, Walt Coleman, Angel Hernandez, CB Bucknor, Joe West, Kelly Sutherland and Dan O'Halloran come to mind....

The nba is by far the worst tho when it comes to promoting their refs and giving them an iden y. Barkley getting in a race with bavetta at the as game is something you'd never see happen in the nfl. Hochuli in lost sleep over blowing that chargers broncos game in 08 and actually sent emails out to chargers fans apologizing for it. Joey Crawford meanwhile looks for ways to takeover at the end of games, and you can tell by how demonstrative he is when he makes a pivotal call.

You LeBron haters make me laugh. It is an equally valid argument to say how does a guy not foul very much the whole regular season and all the sudden in this game every touch is a foul.

The refs completely ruined this game, it was so entertaining, and then you take away one teams best player and closer on a touch call that didn't even matter with a minute left. Take the other team's best player out for stretches with foul trouble. It's refs that think the game is all about them that drive me nuts. There were so many terrible calls both ways, I just wanted to shove the stupid whistle down the refs throats.

My point is that refereeing in the NBA is a joke. It's not that this or that person is being coddled. I'm the last person you should be calling a Lebron hater.
