Spurs are jinxed, and Spoelstra don't need to worry with motivation speechs anymore, because Miami have enough of their pride hurt by the mega bandwagon.
yeah it's off-putting![]()

Stephen A's pick of Spurs in 7 makes no sense. No NBA or MLB team has won a Final on the road since the Pirates in '79. Maybe if LeBron picks up his third technical in Game 6 and is suspended for Game 7...
Some "expertise" from Smith there, predicting that the Spurs will go zone. Obviously he hasn't watched this team in ten years. They never use zone because they're absolutely putrid at it. Every time they've tried it over the years, it's been abysmal. I doubt Pop will suddenly install it and perfect it enough to trust it over a week.
Sickened me listening to Stephen A. say the Spurs were only going to win because he doesn't trust Dwayne Wade's knee and Chris Bosh's game (wtf?). Dwayne Wade played GREAT in game 7 vs the Pacers. He was jumping through the roof for rebounds. DON'T TELL ME HE'S NOT HEALTHY. That's BULL . HE'S FINE. NO EXCUSES MIAMI.
I like it better when most pick against us, tbh.
The majority (and Vegas) still are.
This is what I keep saying. I've heard a a good number of radio and TV personalities with this pick and it's like they're not even thinking about that. In the NHL though it happened in 2009 and 2011. Point is... it's rare.
Yeah, I realized after I posted that. I meant "I like it better when almost everybody picks against us, specially the guys at ESPN and TNT".
My real question is whether he said the key to the series was TI-AA-Go Splitta.![]()
There have been only 3 NBA finals game 7s since 1989. Going back to 1979 that number only increases by 2. That's a pretty small sample size. Besides enough teams have closed out on the road in earlier games to make your argument kind of silly. Looks at the Mavs in 2011.
A game 7 road win isn't that far fetched.
ter McGee
Love is a punk who complained about TD getting in the All Star game a couple years ago so it doesn't surprise me he picks against us. He's just a stat-padder who gets his numbers in blow out games when the real teams sit their best players when games are over and done with...that is when he's actually on the floor.
Yup that's how that fool says it. Splitter might as well be Rasho Nesterovich as far as Smith is concerned. He thinks all white big men are pussies without actually mentioning their race.
I don't know how Charles Barkley and other people have the wits to call him the best power forward in the NBA. I mean how can you be called the best power forward if all you do is jack up three pointers and not dominate your position then on top of that be on a losing team? If he were to go to the Lakers and replace Dwight Howard, he'd be like the third option.
The TNT guys are much more tolerable than most other NBA analysts and they respect the Spurs more than most of them but they flip-flop all the time on their favorite position players.
Stephen A. Smith: "The Heat are going to have to play at their very best 4 out of 7 games. Not like the Pacers where three games off got them the W." = perfect analysis
Is he as dumb as that WALE clown? I hate when they bring these clowns on that show and thats why I WILL NOT WATCH.
Flo Rida really did look like a moron. Stephen A. and Skip kept asking him to explain why the Heat were going to win and he would just keep giving unintelligible responses and keep wearing his homer sunglasses.
Eventually they just gave up.
^ this, tbh
Spurs in 5.
Come on. Smith just priming himself to a win-win situation.
Heat lose and he'll say he was right. Heat lose and he'll go on and on why you never pick against Lebron, how he is the greatest thing ever and how the entire nation should have learned the lesson now.
kinda like a reverse timvp![]()
Wow, SAS picked us? Remember when he used to laugh at Tiago Splitter? TO be honest, I came into the playoffs only wanting my Spurs to win the West, I didn't think they could beat the Heat. Then I watched them shut down the Warriors and dismantle Memphis. Good gosh, they SWEPT Memphis? The Heat were on a mission last year. They really had to Win The Finals last year, can you imaging The Heat they would feel if they didn't win?!?!? It was their destiny. Well, I feel this year, it is OUR destiny. I think the Heat mistakenly left too much on the floor for that 27-game win streak.
I heard that this morning too but too be fair he also said good things about us and said that if Miami wasn't firing on all cylinders then they were in trouble. But yeah, that .![]()
EXACTLY how I feel. The Heat looked unbeatable... until the playoffs. The Spurs looked totally vulnerable... until the playoffs. The reality of the situation has changed completely.
