Thanks for the grades.
Andat people calling timvp because he has been wrong (so far).
I guess I would have to call Kori because that A- grade for Manu is way too high.
Green should get a bonus point for stepping on Mike Miller's face.
Thanks for the grades.

Eh.. Even Parker got benched for a while in his first Finals, and he'd been a starter for two years.
Easier said than done. Green launched himself from a mile away so his trajectory was bad. Very difficult situation when you got a knockdown shooter like Ray Allen. He'll hopefully learn from his mistake and not allow that much space again.
Wasn't that TP though? (Edit.. oh wait that was when Battier got kicked in the head.. that was funny too).
Thanks for the grades, Kori! One one hand I agree that Tim, Tony, Manu, and Kawhi earned an A grade for beating the Heat at home. One the other hand, I still think there is room for improvement for both Manu and Tim. Manu missed some 3 point defenses and was just generally slow to get back on his man. Most likely his body just can't react that fast anymore. Tim can dominate even more on that Heat front-line. `nuff said.
Your introduction also had me laughing. That said, timvp better write the next 'preview' predicting the Heat blowing out the Spurs in game 2! Don't mess with Karma.
James said he got gassed at the start of the 4th and asked to come out. Pop should take note (if he already hasn't). It takes a lot of energy to play all those minutes, dragging 250 pounds around the court. If we keep pressuring him and forcing him to chase fresh players while on defense, even the best player in the world has a potential weakness.
Same with Wade. Wear these guys down. Move the ball around and use constant motion to make them run on both ends of the court. The Heat didn't have it in the 4th quarter.
these weren't written by timvp![]()
Thank you for the grades, Kori. I thought that Pop's game plan, which was incomprehensible at times last night (esp. Neal's minutes) proved out in the end. Guess that's why he's a sure HOF coach. But man, I hope he is flexible with the Neal minutes.
We are all thrilled with what happened last night. I know that if that shot hadn't gone in for Tony at the end of the shot clock things could have turned out differently, but we have to remember that we ARE playing the defending champs. They are not scrubs. They are good defenders, good shooters and most of them play smart bball.
Expect that next game we will see more aggression from LBJ on offense, and it will be hard to keep him from scoring. They inexplicably didn't go the rim hard until the final game against the Pacers, and they inexplicably didn't do it too often last night. When they start doing that, we are gonna be hard pressed to stop them without fouling. But we can enjoy these as long as we can.
While I agree with the Neal grade and the evaluation. I was frustrated at one play where Neal had just hit a big three and KL, who had just missed a corner jumper failed to pass to an open Neal and then bricked his second corner three. Neal is a streak shooter and when he puts one down you almost have to go back to him when he is that wide open.
Diaw needs to get the majority of Bonner's minutes. I don't care if Bonner gets 5-6 in the first half but the second half when the Spurs need defense, it has to be Diaw.
i think neal deserves more, he provided offense when Green and Leonard were ice-cold, and that's very valuable for us.
Thanks for the grades! All i have to say is that i cringe everytime Neal is part of a fastbreak. He always seems to mess it up or pull up for a jumper.
It's true, Manu fell asleep few times on defense and didn't shot that well. He's still capable of making 25 points out of 15 shots or put +10 assists - but he's not as consistent as in the past.
The Spurs have the best bigman in the NBA, the best PG too. It won't be easy for the Heat. LeBron is the MVP, but Wade and Bosh aren't great this season. It's still too early to predict, however the Spurs seem like a better team then the Pacers that pushed the Heat all the way to G7 of the ECF's.
Disagree. Players earn labels based on their performance. He was woeful against OKC last year and was a big reason the Spurs lost. His choker label was earned in 2012. Likewise, just a year later, he's on his way to earning a label of clutch, especially with those 4 big 3s. I think he's being fueled by the fact that he choked last year, and he wants to do right by Tim, Tony, Manu and Pop.
I actually liked how Neal contributed. He came in and made some crucial shots for us.
I don't think Joseph's defense is going to be a difference maker in this series. We need Neal's confidence and scoring. The stage is probably a little too big for Joseph. He'll play more when this series gets back to SA.
Thanks Kori!
By mere coincidence Mike Miller has been Spurred in the face twice now... once by Bruce Bowen and once by Danny Green.![]()
I agree about Splitter's defense in regards to protecting the rim, it seems as if he's taken the verticality, shot challenging from Roy Hibbert's book.
meh, i thought the choker label was already re ed in 2012 since he proved in the early post season that he was not choking, he simply had a terrible series and that's all that there is, even ray allen can miss a series of threes, it doesn't mean it's because he feels the pressure. The doubters were right on him in 2011 though, he was choking bad back then, it was too early for him apparently.
Sure you're not thinking of Szczerbiak?
dis gif never gets old![]()
I think Neal got the nod over Joseph because it was an away game....Pop probably figured Neal would mentally handle it a little better.
How did Bonner get anything but an F? He contributed nothing. Got worked on defense. Missed every shot on offense, and the couple of times he was a pick man he didn't even make contact and the defender just ran right around him.
I believe Brucie got Mike Miller in similar fashion...
at people calling timvp
Just because you know the odds of winning the lottery are low doesn't mean you don't want to win the lottery. Just because he said the Spurs chances are limited doesn't mean he wasn't rooting for the Spurs.
i thought splitter had a great defensive stretch in the 2nd half. granted, he had some plays they could have whistled as fouls, but he played tough, physical D when contesting the drive. loved the physicality he brought, which with him isn't always a guarantee
timvp
Tbh his points were still pretty valid, but luckily Tony and Manu didn't struggle as bad as I thought they would against Miami's D. Still just Game 1 but there was a lot to be happy about.
Believe.
