Threats? smh. It's a damn game, sad tbh.
This is a funny thread, but you left out some of the best emails/threats.![]()
Threats? smh. It's a damn game, sad tbh.
Did people really PM/threaten timvp for not being a homer?![]()
WTF is up with all these self indulgent bull posts?
Thank God you don't have a podcast.
You have a take, own it. Be right or wrong, accurate or inaccurate.
Spurs win or Lose.
Don't post something re-explaining... i mean Jesus... you up people's confirmation bias with the one post... now you make another one and you think that is going to make their crying better?

The prediction isn't the bad part, just by homecourt, the refs, facing the defending champion with the best player. Anyone could and should pick the heat
what stinks is timvp thinks the heat are "more likely to maintain a higher level of play" or whatever. That's total crap. The heat don't have a legit point guard or post presence and they're amongst the slowest halfcourt teams anyone has ever seen. Lj mentioned nothing about the great matchup for our two best players
Are you telling me no one asked why you allowed several new members/trolls?
IT'S ALL Splitman4evah's FAULT!![]()
Your prediction is wrong but you're right about that. That's what will make this one so special.
timvp
Screw these goobers. Sometimes logic doesn't play into it. At the start of the season I expected a 50ish win season and a second round exit.
On paper they should still get creamed by Miami evan after game one.
I ended up betting 5C on the Spurs to win the series before it started just because I'm a homer and I didn't think the Spurs were 2/1 underdogs.
It was a risk/reward scenario. If the odds had been even there is no way I would have bet the Spurs to win even though I will be screaming for them every game.
yeah sure, the site owners didn't think about opening up membership during the Finals until I brought it up
And from what I've seen, there are actually a lot of good new posters who were former lurkers. Outweigh the trolls, tbh
I've been here as a lurker since 2003, and posting sparingly over the last several years and it is kind of sad to log in and check the board daily/nightly after a game looking forward to reading everything you put up Timvp but I get it. Some of these people are truly not right in the head if they are actually upset with you for any reason
A lot of people are unable to process the concept of balanced debate versus their preformed opinions (or wishes).
Timvp, I'm not one of the ones who think you're being a " got" or a "pussy", but I think your worry that the Spurs will lose (likely because of the way the last two season ended) is effecting your predictions quite a bit.
I had the Spurs beating the Grizzlies in 5 tbh, and I was adamant that it would be a quick series in the Spurs' favor. Based on what I've seen of both teams, they coudn't win against a 90% healthy Spurs team, much less a 100% one. The Grizz not only didn't match up well, but the Spurs as a whole played better than the Grizzlies statistically all season.
I agree that the Heat should've been favored going into the series, but now that the Spurs took game 1, you've got to be kidding with "38%". At worst it's 50/50 now. The Heat aren't that much better than the Spurs. Yes, LeBron is the best player in the world right now, but it's a team sport and the Heat were barely better than the Spurs this year. . .and aren't better right now.
I get why you think the way you do, but I think you're letting the flameouts of the last two years be too large a factor in your predictions this year. We sucked in 2010 because of health, and everyone including most Spurfans were writing them off. . .I on the other hand, saw the variables in why we only won 50, and why we were winning less games each year since 2007 (poor health across the board that got worse every year). So assuming the team was healthy in 2011 and stayed that way, I saw no reason why they wouldn't be a top seed.
Just like now, if healthy and determined, this team is great. They don't screw up very often, they always make the high percentage play, and they have a rock solid gameplan to beat the Heat. Spurs can win this and their chances are higher than you think. Enjoy it bro.
Disagree with the good posters outweighing the trolls, but don't worry I'm not being serious.
